1.
Totally off topic but, every time I see that heading, I think it says White Heroin!!!! Is it just me?
The rugby blokes seem to be at it as well. Something about getting a line out.  [:D] Pass the straw please.  [:P]
 2.
next time we are in Burgundy (quite soon, in fact,) we intend to go to the premises and see what's on offer.
Thanks for that. I'm sure we'll all look forward to how you get on. Often the media can slant a description to suit a situation.  [:D]
 3. Thanks for that info Su. Fuddled is a word that comes to mind.  [:D]
 4. I also remember that Winter. We were living near Stafford, not far from where we are now. Wasn't there something about the equipment not being up to Met Office standards so the record low temperature was not officially recognised?
 5.
we intend to look it up on our next visit
Excuse me for asking, but what does that phrase actually mean?
 6. You don't say at what level your parents conversational French is. Given that they will be having a visit from an expert I feel it's absolutely vital that either they or someone else who is fluent (yourself maybe) is there at the appointment. The buyers have already made their complaint, presumably in writing, so I would strongly resist their being present when the expert attends. What has been the reaction from the Agent to all of this? They may be a witness to your parent's integrity in the sale.
 7.
Paxos here I come!
What are you.............chicken..............turkey? We must know.    [6]
 8. The first thing that you have to establish is if your condition is one of those which qualify as an ALD. Your French GP is a good place to start as s/he will need to complete an application form if the condition qualifies.
 9.
I have to keep returning to my original question [:D] Insert original question here
Then why are you even posting here...............?
 10.
I thought he was included in the decision making process but didn't agree with the majority decision ? But what do I know, football is not really my 'thing'
Dunno Rh. I can't find any reference to who was present but I think it was just the nuance that I picked up from the news.  [:D]
 11.
duplicate post deleted
Of course nothing to do with having four pints of Master Brew the night before.  [:P]
 12.
32.5sec
It happened yesterday afternoon when the jury returned a not guilty. It's just a case of putting the paperwork in place. Can you see Tottenham giving him up easily? As for the F A not including Fabio in the decision, even just as a token acknowledgement of his Head Coach position, what did they expect him to do? Simply let them get away with it? Naw. Typical of the bunglers at the F A.
 13. I'm surprised none of the "pros" have been on to help. We sold under a non-exclusive contract but as long as your exclusive contract doesn't tie you in until a date sometime beyond today, then simply start the  process with your buyer. If it runs it''s course and leads to a sale then simply tell the agent you've sold. If your private buyer walks away then just carry on as you are. No need to tell the agent what's happening. The disquieting aspect here is why so many buyers have walked away before signing. Something wrong with the property or something wrong with the agent? Incidentially, if you are successful with a private sale expect a lot of huffing and puffing from the agent. Simply ignore this as it's par for the course.
 14.
With regard to the MOT you may find that not all testers are aware of the procedure.
Note that I said MOT station and not tester. Each station has the a copy of the rules. It sounds like your man was just too idle to find them or look them up.
 15. Just to add, both UK insurance and MOT are avaiable using the VIN. You may find not every clerk insurance clerk is au fait with this but every MOT station should be. As for NCD, this will be down to individual companies.
 16. I noticed on the TV news programme at the weekend that some sport was played; Rugby or something by men with funny shaped balls. There was a logo on the telly: RBS it said in blue letters. Why am I, as a UK taxpayer, paying to advertise a bank on a minority sports progreamme? Break the contract. Walk away from the deal and save all us taxpayers some money.
 17.
That is a pinch of strychnine
The breadmaker murderer got away with it.   [:P]
 18. Welcome to the baptism of fire Robert. Norman's posting is as valuable to you as any other so far on this thread. Reading and understanding a system in your native tongue and then going out and dealing with other "natives" can be daunting. Try talking with a functionaire/jobsworth in pidgin and you will receive a very quick lesson in how difficult life can be in France.  [:D] Norman, try a nice cup of camomile.  [6]
 19.
Ahhhhh just watch Ed Milliband on BBC Breakfast - put me right off my devilled kidneys and kedgeree!
He's starting to come across as more shameless than even Teflon Tony.  [:P]
 20.
I think you might find its the tax payer that secured the jobs...however according to the BBC : Earlier this month, RBS announced it would cut 3,500 jobs from its global banking division. The cuts will mean RBS has removed 11,000 employees from its staff, almost halving its 2007, pre-credit crunch headcount of 24,000.
When you've sold off 16 non-core businesses, a reduction in numbers is inevitable.  [:(] Whether or not it's proportional, then I don't know.
 21.
Not me that needs the help Benjamin [:D]
So the point of your posting was what? A wind up for Quillan or just generally taking the p*ss?
 22. These references might help you NickP. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/Taxes/TaxOnSavingsAndInvestments/DG_10013733 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Payment_in_kind
 23. Improvements don't happen at the flick of someones' fingers: Stephen Hester is part way through a program designed to put RBS on a sound footing and by all accounts everything he's done so far is a step in the right direction. Whilst popular opinion is for him to call the Public's bluff and walk away I somehow don't see him doing that. What should have happened is that any bonus due should have been placed "in trust" until he finishes the job so that small minded and blinkered people can judge how effective he's been overall. As for the clown Miliband, he just comes across as a ploitician trying to glean as much favour as he can from the voters. Sorry, that's what politicians do, isn't it? He'll be another party leader who never gets to govern.
 24. Thank you Margaret and sorry if I sounded ungrateful.
