  3. Hi They still have to announce the bulk of the 2007 summer routes (we had the same issue about Southampton/La Rochelle).  I called them and emailed them and all the other summer routes will be announced at the end of October. PeterCD
  4. Hello I have sent you a email with details of someone who might be able to help. PeterCD
  5. Advice please......... In approx. 6 weeks we will be taking a trip from Moissac on the Canal de Garonne - making for Buzet-sur Baise.  At Buzet we need to make a major decision on which direction we then take and would welcome first hand recommenations from anyone who has cruised in the area. Should we go south on the Baise towards Nerac and Condom or north east on the Lot towards Villeneuve....or north west on the Canal de Garonne towards Bordeaux...........decisions, decisions!  The other option would be to go south on the CdeG towards Toulouse........ Thanks in advance for useful tips......... PeterCD
  6. I have searched this message board but am unable to find the answer to my question......... We have recently had the prevailing end wall of our house re-rendered and crepied (Pierre) to match the rest of the house but the end stones (all dressed) were originally painted white with an exterior paint.  We would like to bring the stones back to the original Charante colour. Needle peening with a compressor has been suggested then light sandpapering but I am afriad this will remove too much stone. Apart from a wire brush, elbow grease and time does anyone know of an alternative "mechanical" way that the stones can be cleaned?  PeterCD
  7. I understand from Pool Guy that pool alarms - have in fact - been removed from the listing of security products simply because that are useless and unrelable. PeterCD
  8. There are more details under the posting - ANGOULEME AIRPORT.........same section PeterCD

  12. I am fully aware that this question has probably been raised many times before but am unabke to find any "links".  It has a simple yes or no answer............ We purchased the TV for our French house last summer from Le Clerc.  We are returning to France next week and find that we have a spare UK VHS video recorder - which it would make sense to utilize but the question is will it work in France with the TV??? Thanks.............
  13. Have sent you a private mail with details of a registered guy that lives close to Saintes. PeterCD
  14. We have an HP iPAQ running with TomTom software v.5 and it is brilliant - so would recommend TT anytime.  We have used it all over France and the detail is great.
  15. Yes - good news but still need to err on the side of caution.  Water restrictions were lifted in the Charente Maritime on 9th Feb.
  16. From the Ministere de l'ecologie www all restrictions in the Charente Maritime were lifted on 9th Feb.
  17. Interesting.............. We have a pool which has an automatic water levelling system and this is plumbed straight into the mains!! Wonder how that is affected?
  18. Are there any alternatives in France to the "livebox" if you require a wireless connection for two or more laptops?
  19. Would appreciate knowing if water restrictions are still in place in the Charente Maritime. Last summer - on the forum - I seem to reacall somebody posted a www that was updated weekly with all French Depts.water information - does anyone have this www? Thanks.........PeterCD
  20. Many thanks for the link - very helpful. PeterCD
  21. We have been having problems getting some final issues clarified and resolved with a contractor. It has been recommended that we utilize the services of a "mediator de justice".  The title is easy enough to understand but what is the procedure, costs, etc. Also is we inform the contractor that this is our course of action I presume they could rectify the problems before we get to a "hearing"? PeterCD
  22. Deadline was yesterday (Sunday) - does anyone know the result?
  23. Any definite news on this issue yet from meeting today?
  24. I spoke to Screwfix a few months ago and they indicated that they would ship individual orders to France but presume this has changed.
