1. Sounds like you live on your own, can't you wash your shirts by hand.  Oh no, are you divorced and the ex used to do all that stuff and you just can't manage.  I had to wash sheets and duvets by hand nearly every day with my little ones before I finally got a washing machine. Sounds like you have never had to manage.[:)][:D] Georgina
2. So the woman put a scalding coffee between her knees - doh!! Really where is the urban myth? [:D] Georgina
3. Good luck, there are liars and fraudsters in every country. Georgina
4. Mandycats wrote "with a sarl you will need other directors - 2 or more and of course you may then start getting into shareholders etc. very complicated!" But husband and wife can be the only directors so that is not complicated, well, depending on your relationship [:D] Georgina
5. Poor mice, I don't know which is the worse death, being half chewed by a cat, or set solid in glue. Terrible death either way.  I have them in the attic and use a sonic device.  Every so often I think they make a further hole which we have to block. I used poison once and they partied for weeks on it and none died! Pink pellets cost me a fortune too. Georgina
6. You have probably thought of this, but do you think there is a possibility that he wasn't covered? Might be the reason. Georgina
7. Me too, but I have to go back every so often for a reality check. I am not saying France is any better, in many ways it is lacking, but there is certainly more space, I get claustrophobia when I go to England now.  Also it's like being on a merry-go-round where you just have to keep moving, no time to "stand and stare". 8.
I have been using Moneybookers for about 1 year, never any problem - as expected it takes longer for my Bank to send them the money than it does for moneybookers to send it to France. - Usually 3/4 days from First Direct to Moneyybookers then 2/3 days to credit Agricole - costs me about £2 for £1500 transfer, bank would want £21
Maybe not, maybe it's MB who do not show it in your account as soon as they have it!  How would you know. Georgina
9.

Now they have charged us for practically everything except the cheque book.
In your circumstances I think I would change my bank! Sue [blink]
Please give me a referral for a business account, mind!! I thought they were all the same.   Georgina
10. Our bank has the cheek to charge us for informing us we have had a credit paid in.  We know anyway [:@] as we have internet banking with the account but they insist on sending us a letter and charging for it. Now they have charged us for practically everything except the cheque book. Georgina
11. That's great, if they don't bank the deposit cheques months before they commence, unless they are buying the materials straight away. But it's a bit of a cheek to take money when you are not starting the work for ages and then of course there is no incentive for them to come back when they have spent it. Georgina
12. I recently transferred some money through another exchange company. It went into Cyberspace because of a string of numbers apparently but they did not bother to tell me it had come back to them.  I had to get them to resend it, resulting in it taking about 20 days. Plus they would not explain to me exactly what the problem was or how it could have been avoided, they just kept saying it had been resolved, so what can you do, nothing it seems but someone has your money and it's not you.  When we bought the house we used our bank First Direct and it went without a hitch. When I tried to contact the exchange company mentioned earlier I was speaking to people who did not understand me, very frustrating indeed and very stressful. Georgina
13. It would be nice in some ways to have a house in each country, but then really you are only ever dipping your toe, you never really try to make a go of it or settle anywhere in either place. A constant safety net is sometimes not the answer when it comes to making the effort. Having said that I would like a house in several countries please.[:-))] Georgina
14. Truro and Cornwall are definitely lovely places. But having recently returned for a visit, I was amazed by the amount of traffic.  You literally could not stop anywhere in or out of a car without being run down by a juggernaut or another person.  Certainly it is pretty like a lot of places here.  Even the tight country lanes you could not walk one minute without jumping out of the way of a speeding car. It's very much every man for himself.  A couple of times I stopped to ask directions (well off the main road) and was papped at by impatient drivers after two seconds.   Georgina
15. One week on.... no answer to my email, now there's a surprise.

Camelias

Is it okay to move a camelia now.  They are so beautiful I don't want to risk it dying but I do need to move it. Cheers Georgina
18. Well I got a receipt for my email which was sent automatically but no reply, won't hold my breath. Georgina
19. Yes thanks, but they are getting all the benefits of being a large store and loyalty of customers because of the name, and then they take none of the responsiblity,  does not seem right here as they all sell the same things. I just don't understand this at all. One for Sarkozy to deal with.  Do you think he would listen [;-)] Georgina
20. Sorry a bit late in here, been away.  Me, I live near you, [:)] e mail me if I can give you any info. Were you Pat in a previous life? [:)] Georgina
21. I must say they are the rudest ever here.  I have sent them an e mail, we shall see if I get a reply. In the meantime I shall not be using them again.   I will let you know if I get a reply but I doubt it. Georgina
22. I made the mistake of buying my son's cartable at 24E from here and it broke within two weeks. Unfortunately I bought it (and my other son's) from the massive Leclerc store on holiday some miles away and even though I used my store card and I had the receipt, but nice lady rottweiller at customer services told me very abruptly I could not exchange it as I had not bought it from their shop!!! ugh???? and I would have to take it back there.  She was really rude about it and dismissed me like a school child.  When I asked to see the "chef" she rang him and turned her back to me, whilst discussing me in a derogatory manner.(unbelievable) and then told me he would not come. So even though I used my card there and I cannot get a replacement unless I travel 100 km (in other words enough petrol to buy another).  So I have come away with the hair standing up on my neck (should customer services be like this).  So you frenchies, really I cannot believe they treat customers like this.  What would you have done.   [:@]
23. Looks like a lot of us are in the midst of the Menopause.  So can I ask has anyone been to the docs here about this.  I think I am pre menopausal - or for want of another word "unbearable".[:D]  Do you find in France that the doctors will give HRT easily? Do they only give it when your periods have actually stopped or when you have other symptoms? Georgina
24. I think it's vampires, cos I have three sets of double puncture wounds 1cm apart.  Yikes!!!  Where's the garlic!!
25. Thanks RH now that I have your sympathy, can you lend me some money [:D]..... This is freaking me out.  Someone has had my money for 10 days and more.  I suspect some fat Bulgarian bloke [:)] There are some many numbers now involved.  I think I will not bother again with this.
