1. I have found a temporary workaround but still have the initial problem. I have managed to get the page web address and as long as I am logged in I can open another window paste the address and get in that way!!! But still cant get in via the link on the main page. Something is stopping it  connecting, I would still like to know what.
2.
If you are using a new version of IE, this topic should help solve the posting box problem - http://www.completefrance.com/cs/forums/1639542/ShowPost.aspx Can't offer specific help with other forums unfortunately, unless you know the software the forum runs under (e.g. phpbb, simple machines etc).
Thank you Will, yes I am useing the new version, all sorted (on this site anyway) and thanks to Clair as well.
3.
You haven't been banned, have you......[Www]
Noooo I have only just joined! I'm not having a very good day! now this forum is causing me probs, I have a different post making page: the posting box is small only about a 1/3 of the page wide, I don't have any emotions, your quote comes out all gobbledygook ahhhhhhhhh
4. Hi Is there some kind person out there that could help solve my problem? I am a member of a club who has a web site with a forum attached, I am able to gain access to all parts of the site except the forum, when the site loads my computer asks if I want to view the non HTTPS content, I have checked both yes/no, the web site loads and I enter my user name and password and I am logged in OK, then I chick on forum and it refuses to connect, I am using IE and I have AGV v8, I also used Mozilla last night and did gain access once after many tries. On IE it asks to if i want to view the non HTTPS and I clicked on info were it told me how I could change the setting to enable 'display mixed content' I did this and I still had no luck. This morning I have tried both IE and Mozilla and nothing! What is stoping me viewing this page?
5. Another reason to start dieting!!! http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/news.php?yr=09&month=apr&story=gen-en-220409 Good job I'm only size 10!! [Www]
6. I'm so glad this has resolved its self and I have been following this story with interest, I did run a holiday cottage for four years, let through Hoseasons. I find some different ideas coming from some of the posts! I had a 2 bed roomed cottage sleeping a total max of 6 : double, twin and a double sofa bed in the sitting room (stating for two children or one adult) and two bathrooms. Now the rent was for the cottage and I only gave a discount for couples using only one of the two bedrooms, other that that it was full price whether there were 3 or 6 occupants. We didn't have a pool or any other facilities, but anyone who had booked and paid full price I would not been in a position to moan about extra guests arriving to stay the night or two! so I was prepared for 6 people and if only 4 turn up I was on a winner! (the rent was rather high even though I say it myself) I have also rented gites in France and villas in Spain and would expect to have full use of that property for the time I was paying, we rented a 2 bed gite once (2 of us)  and invited our French friend to stay for 2 nights and as far as telling the owner why should we? Exceeding the stated number a property should sleep is not on and I do not condone it. One reason I would never rent a gite that was not detached or that was next to the owner, as far as I am concerned I like my privacy.  Buy the way I hated doing rental, cramped my life style and was so pleased when it was empty!
7.
Have just bought house near Fougeres (dept 35,  E,Brittany)  and have lots of scrap metal to dispose of...Dennis
I'm sorry that my post will not help you! but why oh why did you not put a clause in the contract that the owner was to remove all the rubbish! we did after having a good look round before we signed the first contract, he wanted the sale so agreed and ended up using 10 lorry loads, one large bonfire and 6 blokes!
8. I have a 0044 sim card purchased for our use in France it cost me £34 a couple of years ago, it works on orange and I buy top ups from shops, tabbacs, and magazine shops , never had a problem getting top ups. You do have to top up at least every six months or you lose your number. Its very easy just change the sim in my ordinary mobile on the ferry going over, people can call me then without me having to pay receiver fees and because it is p a y g I'm a bit stingy when it comes to making calls from it.[Www]
9. Sorry  made a post from my other internet browser corrected now!
10.  Here is the info: http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/news.php?yr=09&month=mar&story=gen-en-310309-6
11. Ahh thank you Clair, yes I did spell it wrong! Seems quite a lot for a power cut, must have been off for quite a while, not that we noticed its switched off at the mains from September til May anyway.
12. I got a refund from EDF today they called it: ' Abattement cououre reseseau' can some one tell me what it is for? I did google it but it only said some sort of allowance, I have sent in 0 meter reading 3 times now , could it be for that?
13. Hi I'm back after trying to sort this out I did all that Clair told me, but realised as soon as I switched it on and it was starting up that the dial up connection box appeared and if I closed it  it would appear again in a minute or less, the only way to stop this annoying box was to minimise it and leave it in the task tray. As I was not there long enough to connect to the dial up I was unable to see if Claire's advice worked so I will have to come back on that one. So I have two little annoying problems Any ideas how to stop the second one?

15.
Click on the Vista button bottom left, then find the Configuration Panel in the list on the right. In the Configuration Panel , just below the Programs option, click on Start-up Programs. When the panel opens, click on Show all users at the bottom left then highlight Windows Mail by clicking on it. On the bottom right, click on Deactivate.
Thank you Clair I am not at my mums laptop at the mo but have tried following your instruction on my PC (vista) and I think I can find where you are sending me! not all the names are the same as the ones you use, Configuration panel = control panel? and Deactivate = disable? and as I do not have Windows mail opening when I connect (broad band) I cannot see it there, I will go tomorrow and come back after I have done it or not as the case maybe! I hate being a computer numpty[:$]
16. Windows mail how do I stop it opening when I connect to the internet (dial up) on my mothers laptop (vista), I have looked everywhere to find  somewhere to stop this happening. Hope some kind person can help me as this is very frustrating!! and is probable very easy!!!
17. I did this last summer with my friend[:-))] But phoned up straight away and they were very good (yes I said GOOD) they said that they could see I had only just done the booking and changed the name for £10 instead of the usual £80ish So they are not alway rubbish with customer service [:D]
18.
Hi Ron, the first paragraph was meant to be a serious observation re arriving half hour before departure and the ensueing carnage trying to all get through customs, get on board and depart on time.
I fly Ryanair Liverpool-Bergerac/Limoges and always book in on-line. At Liverpool it would be very unwise to leave it as late as 30 mins before departure as it could take that time to get through security, not because everyone has booked in online but because of shear volume of passengers for other flights, even if you pay £2 for the fast lane it is not always that much faster! so to my mind if you turn up at Liverpool 30 mins before you are likely to miss the flight! I think the 30 mins is to be at the gate not at the airport! Now Bergerac or Limoges is a different matter as they only have one/two flights at a time and it might be possible, but last time I flew out of Bergerac I had 50 mins to spare before scheduled take off  so I thought I would get a coffee and bun instead of on the plane but was just about to order when our names were read out over the tannoy to go straight to security which I did and we were boarded and left 15 mins early. My thoughts were: what if I hadn't got there till the 30 mins would they have left without me![:-))]
19. If I were in my late seventies and returning to the UK with £115,000 I would not be buying a house, with that sort of money in the bank they wouldn't have to live in a park home, they could rent something quite suitable, never have money problems ever again, even pay for private nursing if the need be. To me why have you money in a home at a time when you need it in your pocket, s*d the children's inheritance! But of course why live off your own savings when the government will look after you!!
20.
Whoever suggested you could restrain a cat ( and all it's pointy bits..) in a towel, had... a) Never tried it         and b) Hates cat owners [:-))]
Actually thats exactly how we worm our present cat [:-))] and it works a treat no one not even the cat gets hurt and the pills go down a treat, first you lay a large towel across his back just below the ears when he is standing up normally, quickly wrap the towel around the front legs while picking him up and wrap him fairly tightly so no nasty little claws poke out, when he is snugly wrapped and confined in his straight jacket  I sit down and turn him on his back and my hubby quickly drops the pills down his mouth, he then gets a great big cuddle and off he goes. He has had this done to him for 14 years and he accepts it very well, but we have tried with out the wrapping and its impossible! Would you like me to explain how I single handily shear my sheep? [:D]
21.
The only worry I have is those animals not being taken to the vet for their jabs. And of course they must be spayed !!
Frenchie  None of the cats we have or had have ever had jabs, and come to think of it neither are any of our dogs (except for rabies so they can go to France) I do not  agree with the need or expense! We live in the country and have very little contact with other pets. My biggest worry for semi wild cats would be the worming, as I know our present cat hunts every day and if he isn't wormed every 2/3 months he has signs of worms on his bottom [+o(] We used to worm our 'barn' cats about 2-3 times a year with the same wormer that we gave the sheep! 'Panacur' same ingredient, just had to work out the dose and put it in the food, easy really, we could worm 9 cats for the same dose as a sheep! we did once or twice tried to 'wrap' the cats in a towel  [:-))]but it was very dangerous and painful  (for us).
22. I think the people in the link are just a little to quick to condemn this person! I agree that she did not write the best of posts and should have explained things better, she obviously thought people would understand what she meant by barn cats! Yes barn cat do exist! but before I go any further well fed cats (not overfed cats) will catch more mice and rabbits and that is well known. We bought an old farm in 1980 and with it came 4 'barn cats' 2 males 2 females non of which were handled and would scoot away every time they saw a person, we were young and had two small children and not much money and were not in a position to catch and take 4 cats to be spayed, so the following spring out of the hay came 4 more little faces all wild and cute, we did manage to tame the new kittens and they were handled but never the parents, the cat numbers would rise and fall the most we had was 9, all used to come to the back door once every evening when the dogs had been put to bed and they would share a large baking tin of scraps , bread and milk and soaked dog biscuits, never anything left the next morning, the rest of the time they were not seen, we had 2 of the kittens spayed but they were never really tame and would never enter the house. When we moved to the place we have now in 1993 we only had 2 of the kittens left 1 girl and 1 boy, we thought they would never stay as they were not house cats the female stayed and died here aged 18 but the boy came and went for 2 years and finally disappeared never saw him again. We had our first house cat in 1995 a great big ginger neuted (sp) tom and he is still with us now. So wild cats can live happily untouched by humans quite happily but I always fed mine.
