Isn't it funny how these things start out with just extracts from a larger thing and we make judgments and then more info comes to light which change those initial judgments? I should know better by now.

I think most of what she said was justified in saying it, but not all. The lying in bit wasn't a problem, but the table manners it sounds like the girl was out of order. At least the girl knows where she stands. Nothing worse than having the cold shoulder treatment without knowing why. I think that would be worse. But it sounds like there are other problems. Good luck to the groom who will be caught in the cross fire!

Looking at them, apart from the feeling that anyone wearing those are likely to fall over, the other thing I thought of was snapped hamstrings!

The nook color has the added advantage in that there are apps being produced for it so it is slowly being converted into a tablet because it is based on the android os. However, it is useless for reading out in direct sunlight, so the black and white version is better in this regard.

The market is probably not to the French so their laws would surely be redundant in this case?

The advantage with the 3G version of the kindle is that internet access is free, so you can surf and check your email online. However, if the browser is anything like the nook's, it's not really that great and I would only use it in "emergency" if I needed the net that much. If your net useage is going to be high, then probably the ipad 3G or similar is the way to go for you. But you'd need to pay for net access and I've no idea how much that would cost in France.

Sid, the nook and kindle are the same price, at least in the US. I'd imagine they're the same price elsewhere too. As for the ipad v kindle sales, I think where ebook readers such as the b/w kindle, nook etc have the advantage other the ipad is if you use them outside in the sun. Other than that, I'd have an ipad over both any day of the week.

I wonder why it's only France that has this problem. I've never had the problem from lightning in any other country.

Sid, with the nook, you're not limited to buying just from amazon. The nook reads the universal ebook format, epub, so you can buy from pretty much anywhere you like. You could buy from WH Smith online for example, download it to your pc then copy across to the nook. You could also do this with the kindle, but you'd need software to convert the format and you're likely to run into DRM issues which are more tricky to crack.

Have a look at Barnes and Noble and their nook. I don't know if there's a UK version, but as they're the largest bookseller in the world, there probably is one.

It amazes me how many spelling mistakes you see in newspapers (online versions, I don't buy printed papers). So called professional writers with advanced spell checkers at their disposal and still basic spelling is wrong. But to your ad. Obviously someone was in a hurry to get home on Friday for that to have happened in that ad.

And those people that are taken in by it have the right to vote too. Scary.

I have gone with the second one. It does actually looks much better in real life, although I think the first one looks better in the pictures. I got a bit more money off too. We shopped around a lot and these were the two she likes best. Thanks for the opinions :)

Thanks idun. Of course the relationship is most important and I am sure that it will be a success. I have the determination to make it so, and I know she does too. We're going in the same direction. She likes both and cannot choose between the two so I have to choose (I already have in fact). Her office is split between the two too. She will be wearing it everyday, even when we are married. I've also go the lifetime warranty with it so if there are any breakages etc it's fully covered.

Is that because you are an expensive woman kitty? ;)

It's going great thanks :) Looking to propose on 4th July. I guess your wife had health insurance? My gf kept telling me it would be expensive (she's in the healthcare game), but even she couldn't believe it would be that much. I still might need the Hep B shots so it will come out to be more.
