  1. 2. Just been reading tributes on the BBC web site, he appeared the epitome of effortless charm whose talent was probably never fully appreciated, very sad news. Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  3. LAST EDITED ON 21-Jul-04 AT 06:08 PM (BST) My weeks visit to France was made less enjoyable by my allergy I know I am allergic to tree pollen so possibly this has been particularly high this year. Have you talked to your doctor about preventative treatment,( having injections in the spring for instance) or tried a homoeopath? My sympathies Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  4. Curiousity got the better of me so I bought it - have you ever been a French home that looked like any of those ? I must mix in the wrong circles Lovely stuff though..... Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  5. No help I'm afraid, just my sympathies - the same thing happened to us in the UK and it was back to square one, luckily in the end it all worked out and the sale went through but it was very nerve racking Good Luck Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/

  7. Another 'happy' thread! My first fte ! I loved it......fabulous display of local costumes, music, dancing and all with an infectious enthusiasm that seemed to spread right through the age groups from tiny tots to pensioners ! Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  8. Does any one use this stop ? The car hire option doesn't come up on the Eurostar site, how easy would it be to get to Calais to either get a local train or hire a car ? Thanks Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  9. Thought you might be interested in this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/3898731.stm ( What happens when the exhibits start to go mouldy ?? ) Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  10. Can I have details too please, a friend has rather a lot of books to exchange and would like to know if its being done 'American' style ? Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  11. A group of French members of a club I belong too, are considering hiring a mini bus to visit the international 'get together' in October, which this year is in Bath. There used to be posts about some companies not allowing hire vehicles to be taken from the UK to France, does anyone know the situation the other way round - France to UK and what the biggest vehicle available to hire would be, on a basic French license? TIA Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  12. Normally don't bother to post this type of thing, but received a notifaction from Trend to say there is a worm (medium risk) about - one of the messages it generates/uses says 'Forum notify' Just be very careful, as always about what you open ! http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=WORM_BAGLE.AD Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  13. If you are anywhere near Pont-l'abbe between the 8th - 11th July you may like to visit this celebration. 2004 is the 50th anniversary of the first fete ever held and promises to be one of the most spectacular. On Saturday there will be the childrens parade and on Sunday following mass at the Notre Dames des Carmes there will be a procession of folk groups, musicians and dancers from Brittany and other parts of Europe. There will be many displays of regional craft & handiwork, especially the embroideries that the region is famed for. Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  14. What sort of small business ? Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  15. LAST EDITED ON 02-Jul-04 AT 10:23 AM (BST) Thanks Craig, the size of the case I am taking is getting ever smaller - and I am not famed for my ability to pack lightly, esp when the destination is Brittany - 'be prepared' is the order of the day. Perhaps I can go back up a size now Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  16. If you do this regularly why not advertise in the Plymouth local paper, 'wanted' people may have empty garages and be happy to rent them for a small fee I think a couple of people have done this near Stanstead, cheaper to rent privately and get a taxi to a local house than pay for the airport parking Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  17. http://www.jodshop.co.uk/ I know it still needs to be posted with cost involved but pretty sure you would pay actual postage only. Hope it helps Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  18. Have you tried eBays 'Safe Harbor' as a first step - I guess there will something similar for dispute resolution on Ebay.fr ? Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  19. There was a piece in one of the Sunday papers about a family who tried to take their two pet rabbits on BF and were told that BF would not allow the rabbits on board due to a old French sea faring superstition.........in the end the family had to travel with P&0 If it had been April 1st I wouldn't have believed it !! Is it really true ? Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  20. How long should I allow to get from Gare du Nord (presume this is where Eurostar comes in ?)to get to Montpasse to catch the train to Quimper - probably by taxi - I don't 'do' metro Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  21. LAST EDITED ON 25-Jun-04 AT 10:49 PM (BST) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3840101.stm As I only have IE, is it worth installing 'netscape' or just hang on and hope for a quick fix from anti virus software / Windows ? Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  22. How old are the kittens ? I'm no expert but think that Cows milk is not good, and I'm far from sure about the dried food. I think the rice probably is good. I think it may be better to go to the vets sooner rather than later. If nothing else they will give you good advice about food for the age of your kittens We once rescued a cat who had cat flu and gastro enteritis , at one stage we were taking him to the vets twice a day ! He recovered and lived to a ripe old age and although he was one of the ugliest cats I ever saw, he had a lovely nature and had quite a little fan club among the neighbours ! 23. http://www.thebigdomain.com/ Wondered if this might be useful to you - they only deal in large properties. Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  24. I think it will be Ryanair, Stanstead to Dinard http://www.ryanair.com/ Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
  25. About a week ago BT Yahoo sent an email saying customers should upgrade their email program (Outlook Express)Instructions for this upgrade were included and I followed these. AFAIK This was supposed to be a step to help prevent a computer to being used as a 'host' for spam emails. Since then OE disconnects - reconnects each time the email is checked, which happens automatically every 5 mins. Often it 'freezes' for a minute or so too This is inconvenient particularly as I have MSN messenger. Is any one else having this problem, and is there any way of preventing this ? (I have already been through OE tools/options) to no avail. Any where else I should look ? Gay http://www.quimperclub.org/
