  1. Smiley Central? I have those but I'm not sure they would work here (if some kind person knows how I'd be grateful to have step by step instructions)
  2. There is a bug in the search feature, so new members may find it harder than normal to locate info, hope more long standing members can be patient.
  3. Ok - how did you do that smilie then , all I get is :-) Any one with AVG able to see all the options ? (smilies, text options etc)
  4. Click on 'rate this topic' its in the red band to the right, on the left is what the topic is. You have to be in the actual topic in order to get the option I gave this one 3 stars, average - just a test Di !!! :-) :-)
  5. >>>Ah, but you are forgetting that you would have to compete with thousands of other people with the same idea.
  6. I had to have either Clarke's (first option) or Start rite (extra cost)...... Buying shoes was almost guaranteed to cause a row with my mother and later equally sure to cause my daughter and I to fall out !
  7. >>>, is it too much to ask for a school to try and start up an after school club so our children can learn a foreign language
  8. No, but it does stop you faling flat on your face ! LOL The liberty bodices I had were white with sort of fluffy insides. Had to be worn over a creamy vest, which was longer in length often viyella or Ladybird (before it belonged to Woolworths)I think I was allowed to stop wearing them when I was about 8.......
  9. Ordinary Ribena was the bane of most Dentists lives, sirop can be a fairly similar consistency, it clings...... At 17 for a first filling I think your daughter has done very well.
  10. There are mentions of problems in several threads, I suggest that if you are having problems you list it in this thread and add what system you are running and what Anti Virus or Firewall you have: No smilies No Script options Connection - ASDL Running IE6 Windows ME Firewall - Zone Alarm Anti Virus - AVG We know there are problems with the search facility and the spell checker so there is no need to post if they are your only forum problems Thanks
  11. Fay, you are an advanced member! The standard version of this software comes with Supreme Being etc, it doesn't take a genuis to work out that these 'handles' are possibly not a positive thing ! So the mods asked for them to be changed. Can't help with the squares though, except I think mods and admin are green!
  12. >>Sorry Gay, don't know about the stretchy sheets - aren't they too hot??
  13. Opas - there was a spell check but it had 'bugs' or errors so was disabled. If you want a free spell check you may like to try IE spell. (free download) The quote feature also has errors and AFAIK all these problems have been reported to the correct people.......
  14. Could you give your renters the choice ? Charge them what it is costing you if they take up the option, presumably you have accounted for wear and tear plus a profit in your basic rental price. There was a discussion earlier in the year about fitted sheets from Redoute that are like T shirt fabric, no ironing ! Still haven't ordered mine, but have heard good reports
  15. I certainly don't think rowing is easy, too many early winter mornings seeing them practising on a cold misty river at the crack of dawn !(while I am snugly in the car) Sir Stephen Redgrave first learnt to row courtesy of Great Marlow comprehensive school - how many schools, apart from public ones, offer rowing as an option, during or out of school hours? I think the speed in which football folk received honours might be to do with which ever shade of politician was in power (but I haven't looked it up to see) I think most people respect these achievements whether they have a title or not. Frankly I have less time for some civil servants who get a gong for doing their job and getting a decent pension at the end of it - but on the other hand its nice to reward or acknowledge people who go the 'extra mile' Do the French have a system of this type of recognition ?
  16. Going to treat yourself to one of the new super slim Macs, Dick ??? They look amazing http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3613790.stm Daughter just bought an ipod, NOW I know why everyone raves about them !
  17. Beani, I believe this is a good book which may help (although like all books they quickly become out of date because rules and regs change) http://shop.livingfrance.com/lvfra/product.asp?mscssid=5E0B80NLLTUQ8L97GVPQ4CDP7CWVEF28&dept%5Fid=11&pf%5Fid=F%2FR11 ( I'm afraid you will probably have to copy the link into your browser)
  18. Might be worth having a look at http://www.saga.co.uk/finance/travelinsurance/singletripInsurance.html or suitable links from http://www.silversurfers.net/silversurfers.html or try www.moneysaving expert (sorry links probably wont work, they'll need to be copied) Good Luck
  19. beani, It may be worth posting in the Western France forum too, you may find other forum members close to you who might be able give you local info on all sorts of things as well as the viability of Gites in your area and the market for the other type of work you mentioned in another section of the forum. Good Luck
  20. SB I'm not sure boys wore liberty bodices, they were supposed to be a hardier breed !
  21. Marilyn Richardson AND Vests in the same thread......takes me back to school days and 'liberty bodices'...Showing my age now :-(
  22. Penny , did you do an 'advanced search' or just a search ? I just tried a basic search and got all the posts that contained the word within the text, not just the title..... Perhaps it can be adjusted ???
  23. The change over has obviously produced some problems, hopefully they will get sorted out soon (remember even Living France Forum Admin gets Bank Holiday off !)
