1. You certainly can't. I'm nearly half way through now, not sure if I could let a 12 year old read it. The descriptions are very harrowing.
2. Written by a French woman, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tatiana_de_Rosnay Made into a movie a couple of years back too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah%27s_Key
3. Been seeing this at the book store and supermarkets etc for sale for ages, and liked the look of it. So finally, I managed to download it, and am already a quarter of the way through it. What a great read, it's loosely based on fact, and the French gendarmes infamous handling of the Jewish population in July 16 1942, where families were horrendously herded up and stored in the Vel d'hiver before being shipped off to Auschwitz where of course they were murdered in gas chambers. It also coincided with my fiancee's 12 year old daughter recently going on a school trip, to the Holocaust museum in Baltimore near Washington, and now we're able to swap stories, and I can hopefully educate her more.
4. We lived off about €800 a month in a small village. I think that equates to about £1.50 in English money.
5. Gordon Brown was too, wasn't he? I really don't see what Scotland will achieve by achieving independence.
6. Could your son go home another day? Maybe the day after so he could see the tour too?
7. That's a good thought, to pay them a bit more, to maintain that payment of tax. Which country would get the tax though? But I don't believe she is being a hypocrite, that's just how the job package is. I agree with the other poster that how she performs this critical job is far more of a concern.
8. She isn't doing anything illegal though. Her pay is tax free, for whatever reason. How long has she been in this job? Not long I bet, a year or so. I wonder how much she has paid in her past though, in other jobs she has had. I bet it's far more than any of us. And she is spot on about the Greeks. Their selfishness and greed in not paying their own way is causing people who have nothing to do with them to lose even more. We were idiots bailing them out in the first place, and now it's likely they are going to welch on the deal, thus causing even more people grief and hardship. It's cost me a packet as it is.
9. I ended up creating a new account as i was getting no joy from my original one, but still had some issues logging in from time to time. But I found there are two login links, and the one under the menu bar is the one that works best for some reason.
10. Can you try printing another document from Word. Does that print out as it should?
11. What program are you using?
12. As a matter of fact, I have :)
13. Hey, I've done my 7 years in Australia, I've done my duty to society!!!
14.

Oh, JJ, I forgot that you are a bit of an expert n'est-ce pas? (But, why are you whispering?) [8-)]
An expert is someone who knows more and more about less and less[:D] Most people choose a face by their own likes and dislikes, but in reality they are more like clothes in style. eg serif faces have time to be decorative and express character, think Designer formal suit, whereas sans faces are strictly functional, think forces uniform or overalls;  For example Johnston is the sans fount designed for the London underground signage, to be simple, clear, with almost no time given to decoration or character.
Serif fonts are almost always used in books and items with lots of text in. They help the eye identify the type more efficiently and quicker than a sans serif font. I don't think this will be an issue with an address though. Also, another hint, generally, never use more than two different font styles on a design. Anymore than two makes it look very confusing, and you lose the focal point. Thinking about it, two contrasting fonts could look neat for your design, sweet.
15. I think it also depends on what feel you want to go for. Do you want a new modern clean look, or a more traditional look? For a modern look, Trebuchet font is an excellent choice.
16. Yep, but I need it to present with my immigration application. Just jumping through the hoops :)
17. Wow, who says the French are always slow and inefficient? I applied online this morning for my police check. Submitted the online form and emailed my id, and within an hour received an email confirming my certificate is being mailed out as we speak. I thought this was going to be the hard one. In contrast, getting my Australian and English police checks is already more complicated than it need be.
18. Why Facebook won't survive the decade.
19. In the US, most insurance companies take into account your college degree education too. What does having a degree or not have to do with how you drive? Sounds like the UK is taking on this daft line of reasoning too.
20. Sounds very cheap to me. I was paying 480 euros for a 5 year old convertible, 1.6 fully comp. Now I'm paying more, liability only for an 8 year old 2.6l. Gotta love American insurance companies, they don't even recognise my insurance from overseas. Still, the gas is cheaper here, so swings and roundabouts.
21. lol, it's still cheaper than the new ipad, but you're right, you might as well spend the extra bit of dosh and go for it. Or an Android tablet, they're just as good as the ipad.
