1. Thanks NormanH, that was the answer I was looking for. I was just not sure if the "soit bénéficiaire de l'allocation aux soit bénéficiaire de handicapes" was the same as the "abattement personnes invalides" which I was garnted on my Avis d`Impot. Apparently, any discount etc is automatic, so i will just wait and see what happens. Thanks again, appreciated.
2. Oh well, if no-one knows...just have to wait and see. Thanks to all who replied.
3.
Les personnes exonérées de tax d'habitation
Thanks Sunday Driver, I have read this document, but still none the wiser. I fulfill 2 of the conditions, ie the latter two, but am unsure whether my invalidity, which was accepted by the Tax authority, and for which I was granted an "Abattement personnes invalidité" on my Avis d`Impot, consitutes fulfilling the first condition (ie invalidty and handicap etc).
4. Having just received my Avis d`Impot for the first time following my first declaration where I submitted all my documentation regarding my disability, I see that my "Revenu Fiscal de reference" is 11720€. This declaration was for my wife and I, and I also qualified for an "Abattement personnes invalides". I have read the French tax website relating to "Particuliers" et "Vos Impots" etc and see that we may qualify for some sort of exoneration/reduction. We are both under 60 and the low "Revenu Fiscal de reference" comes as a result of a change in financial circumstances since we arrived here. How would our circumstances affect our tax Hab and Fonc bills?
5.

My wife and I have been paying about 80 euros a month to a mutuelle that we took out when we came to live here following our receipt of Carte Vitales with for E121 (underlying entitlement to UK Incapacity Benefit). Are we elegible for CMU Complimentaire Santé, as, following receipt of our Avis d`Impot, our joint Revenu Fiscal is now 11,720€ (which includes an "Abattement personne invalide" for me) I have had a look at the CMU website, but see there are 2 plafonds for this (one above and one below the Revenu Foscal figure), and I cannot work out which is which. Any ideas?
According to one of your earlier threads, you are registered with your CPAM under an E121/S1 issued on the basis of invalidity and therefore entitled to 100% reimbursement of your medical expenses. On that basis, why would you have taken out a mutuelle at 80 euros a month which you now seek to replace with a free one under CMU complimentaire?
I took out the mutuelle because I thought it was the normal thing to do. One of my earlier posts re this subject also mentioned that I was looking for a way to get out of the contract as I could no longer really afford 80€ a month for top up. Yes, my registration with CPAM covers 100% reimbursement of my medical expenses relating to my invalidity, although as you will know, it does not cover other medical conditions, and any medical treatment my wife my require. My plafond would only make me elegible for assistance towards a complimentaire santé and not a free one.
6. Thanks Pommerier, you answered my question. Thanks to NormanH too.
7. Thanks NormanH, the links you provide are the websites I was referring to. The 2 plafonds are for CMU-C and ACS, but my problem is that, I dont know what the difference is between CMU-C and ACS, and, as per my post, my Revenu Fiscal is above that for CMU-C. What is ACS?..as I am below that.

9.
Not to worry - you'll get your printed Avis towards the end of the month (Aug) & the money should be in shortly after that.
Thats great Gardian, thank you very much.
10. Thanks for that, however it is our first tax return, so not online yet.
11. We will be due a credit following this years tax return (credit d`impots on double glazing, eco stuff etc.). I take it the tax credit is paid roughly when the tax bills are sent out. Is this correct?. and what month does this happen?
12. Try this: http://local.direct.gov.uk/LDGRedirect/index.jsp?LGSL=323&LGIL=0
13. Very nice, it is like the one (except infinitely better made  [:D]) which I took out in favour of the three panel framed type, which I  really want for the house. The problem is that there are 2 bedrooms which need an "A-frame" door. The 2 other doors on this floor are the 3 panel standard type of doors, so I really need the A-frame ones to match.
14. Just wondering if anyone with an A frame house have internal doors that literally have a top corner cut off to fit. I would like to know if anyone had these doors made to measure or whether, they "doctored" the door themselves to fit.
15.
Thanks. My main concern is that we may be entering into a new contract and, with it, a new obligation to keep the phone line attached. As it stands we are out of this contract obligation. We also may need to register the "new" card with the box, which we cannot do over the phone in France, so we would presumably have to bring the box back to the UK?
No, all you are doing is altering your subscription. The multiroom box is yours, you can do what you like with it. A new freesat SKY card does not involve a contract, it is a one off payment and has nothing to do with attaching a phone line to the box. If you have any doubts about this, you would be better buying a freesat box, still altering your susbsription (ie cancelling movies and multiroom), and put your existing multiroom box on eBay. Again though, it is very important not to tell SKY you are taking the card (if you go with SKY freesat) to France.
16. I would phone SKY and ask them to remove the Movies and the multiroom parts of your subscription and ask them for a Freesat for SKY viewing card for your box in France, but dont mention it is going to France!
17. You need a "Bouchon male à visser" (male end screw in cap literally) or female, depending on the fitting (ie whether a cap can screw into the existing fitting , or on the outside), and going by your measurements, I suspect it is size 20/27 (20mm internal and 27mm rim size). They are available at all DIY outlets. Also buy some rubber circular flat joints (joint caoutchouc), place one each in the cap and screw them onto the hot and cold outlets. Tighten slightly, but not too much or it can rip the rubber seal and will leak when you re-apply the water presssure. If this happens, disconnect, refit another rubber joint and tighten again. This will hold either premanently, or until at least you find a plumber.
18. Having read through this thread, am I correct in assuming that a zero interest eco loan is not available who has not submitted a tax return for the previous 2 years? I was thinking of applying to fund our new septic tank, but as we only moved here last year and only submitted one tax return, I rather suspect we will not be able to.
19. Just one of many ways to scam cash machine users. Have a look at this link for the basic scams. http://www.whocanyoutrust.org.uk/#/cash-machine-scam/4532892495
20.
Yep a clear description of the bath and I have yet to come across the waste fitting that wasn't long enough, in fact they are normally too long and restrict the amount of space available for the trap.
Try as I may, I cannot find a waste outlet for an acrylic free stnding roll top bath That is long enough. The thickness of the walls of the bath are 14mm, whilst the base is almost 3cm. Nothing that I have found in Mr Bricolage and Bricoman seems to fit the waste hole in the base. Any ideas?
Now if you could only construct a descriptive sentence we would be in no doubt as to the problem [:P] And then I would have suggested you look in the safe place you forgot about [:)][:D]
Glad to see it is just not me that can make a fool of myself!
21.
Is it the length or dia which is the issue, your post didn't make that clear [:)]
The thickness of the walls of the bath are 14mm, whilst the base is almost 3cm. Sounded clear enough to everyone else!
22. Thanks for all the input! Luckily enough, I had the presence of mind to remove the old brass fittings and put them in a safe place which I totally forgot about, so problem solved. Old ones cleaned and replaced. So, yes, going slowly round the bend!!...and the heat did not help either!

24.
We were pretty sure that we would be selling french people
I thought slavery was abolished!! Seriously though, thanks for that...it seems there are pros and cons for both ways of selling.
25. I understand all the pros and cons with marketing a property with an estate agent, however I am just wondering what the French generally do...do they tend to buy via agents?..or save on fees by buying privately?
