1.
Guys think that they are the centre of the universe so why shouldn't attracting one be the most important thing in your life?
Then you are mixing with the wrong ones. The cream of the crop know that we are. John
  2. Hopefully more like Prasutagus except of course he has been dead for nearly 2000 years. John
  3.
My plan at the moment is to have one meet in the Vendee, one in Bergerac, and one in the Lot.  These may be bigger gets-together (Bergerac) or a nice lunch somewhere with half a dozen members only. I'm just finalising the route and dates and then I'll give everybody some alternatives and you can all decide when it's best for you and where is best.
Yippee John
  4.

Fine by me, (don't recommend eating in the airport though!)[:D]
John... I just need to forewarn you that I dont look like my avatar in real life [:D]
Don't worry Rose, I don't think any of us look like your avatar. Other John
  5. Sorry Coops but 185km is a bit too far. Shame. John

    Peter Green

I became a fan of PG in the days when Fleetwood Mac was a blues band (before they let the girlies join). Luckily saw his Splinter Group at the Waterfront in Norwich in early 99(?), standing at the front with just the wire fence between me and him. The giant speaker left me hard of hearing for a day or few but well worth it. John
  7. At last John has given way to pressure to install a pool (above ground). He is still at the looking around, comparing and thinking stage but would any of you with experience/knowledge of the above company kindly pass on the info. I know the rules that good news may be shouted from the roof tops but bad news must be sent in secret. TIA Di
  8. Having read this and other anti-Ryanair threads it seems that those who complain loudest about Ryanair T&C, unhelpful or rude staff etc are those unable/unwilling to read, understand and comply with said T&C. Eventually this latter group will realise that Michael O'Ryanair is not interested in customer care just the contents of their wallets and purses. Until then find another means of travel, there are plenty. John
  9.

Nearly three thousand hits on Ryanair in three days. Wow! How many for North Africa?
I guess there is a very, very slim chance we (as individuals)can influence RA, but nothing we can do about Egypt.....
Dream on Gay. More likely that Ryanair directly affects us and we don't care about Egypt (Mods - Racist comment removed) John

    Freaky
NOW go figure this out.... take the last 2 digits of the year you were born plus the age you will be this year and it WILL EQUAL TO 111. .
Not true - the answer is 175. I will continue to be 64 until I am 65 later this year. John

    Freaky

Even more freaky is the fact that this year we will have 365 dates never previously used. John
  12.
Any failure then identified leads to Servisair suffering financial penalties, so huge pressure in turn is placed on Servisair staff who face disciplinary action for not strictly enforcing Easyjet's rules.
As it should be - the world would run far more smoothly if all rules were applied all the time. Zero tolerance strictly enforced ensures that we all know what is expected of us (provided that we are truthful about having accepted the rules before ticking the box and booking our tickets). John
  13. NuBe - are you certain that the female who was allegedly rude to you is/was a Ryanair employee? If not, with her attitude, she should be. John
  14.
Iceni - I am sure that if KLM brought in all the charges that Ryanair impose, their profits might well close that gap. But thankfully there are still companies who actually want to give a good service as well, treating people with respect as they do so. And that certainly was not the case for Nubeginnings was it?
You seem to be suggesting that making as much profit as possible is not the aim of KLM management - what a strange business concept. John
  15.
I sympathise with you Nubeggings... Yes, had you have done everything absolutely correctly to comply with their complicated rules, you would have been fine - but what a way to be treated for doing what many people do and that is buying something from the airport... They do not care about individuals. They only care about finding new ways of getting more money from people. My son is flying from Norwich to Amsterdam this week on a very cheap ticket with KLM. Included in the price is one bag for the hold at 23.5kgs and one carry-on bag at 12kgs... He has received his e-tickets and can check in online - all without charge. If KLM can do it, why can't Ryanair?
Ryanair seem to have forecast a profit of €380m - 400m for this year whereas Air France/KLM is only €300m. If Ryanair can do it why can't KLM? John
  16. But will you have a hissy fit when the rules are applied? John
  17. I have just booked RDZ/STN/RDZ in mid/late Feb for €39.99 all-in. (of course Mme will have to cope with just a carry on bag so no room for last minute shopping). At those prices who cares about not getting service with a smile? John
  18. Don't you all realise that when something goes wrong it is always the fault of another party? Nuby - I suggest that you sue Ryanair for making you look foolish. John
  19. I cannot imagine JC living amongst the cheese eating surrender monkeys but who knows? John
  20.
How many times does a french person laugh at a joke? Three times. Once when the joke is told. Twice when the joke is explained. Thrice when he understands the joke. [:)]
That's 6 times not 3. John
  21. Rated 22lbs higher than Two Kisses thus not much to beat - but that is hardly the horses fault. He (?) won easily so how much did we really learn? Cheltenham will/should be faster ground with better horses and doubtless Willie Mullins has 20 or 30 good ones in his yard. John
  22. Just been to local DIY carwash to try and remove some of the muck and grime (from the car, it's not April yet). Not only was the concrete floor covered in ice and v slippery but the water froze on the car roof mid-wash. John
  23. When we left England in Oct 2003 postal redirection was arranged for 3 months only. Yesterday I received 2 redirected letters originally posted in Kent on Jan 11/11. Perhaps because we are friendly with the peeps who now run the village PO? John
