  1. I am very happy to say that I have never ever washed my pussy, and have no intention of doing so. Poor things. PS   the *** were put in there by automatic sensor
  2. Any chance of a reply about what this might be all about, please?
  3. Shame you are so far away - I know somebody who is very good with needles! Hope you get better soon. Heat for me anytime. I have made a long, wide bag, with sub-divisions, with barley- which I microwave and surrounds my lower back with gentle but powerful heat - works wonders. (barley = orge if you want to buy some - very cheap to make with good heavy cotton).
  4. When we had our first 4 ex-battery hens, they were almost bald too, and didn't know how to walk! It took them a day to find they could go forward and not just raise legs up and down on the spot, and also to scratch and find small slugs and worms. within a couple of weeks they had re-grown good fluffy coats. When Poppy's bottome started to be covered with huge white blooby spots, we were worried - and one morning said spots burst into lovely plumes and within 2 days she had the fluffiest bumbum! Great pets as Q says, followed me around everywhere when I was in the garden, hoping i'd find a little worm as a treat. A wonderful experience for all the family- and if I didn't travel so much, would love to have a few again.
  5. think you left out a consonant Chancer. Which one?
  7. Same happened here several times today.
  8. I remember the terrible Frejus disaster from the 50s- as our family hosted 2 kids who'd lost their parents for a while. In this case it was a dam that had given way - but it was clear then that the devastation was partly due to poor planning and the concreting of flood plains - with new shopping centres, housing and roads. They said then - things must change, better planning, NEVER EVER AGAIN - more than 50 years ago. And greed still rules...
  9. We are not too far away - so hope to meet you some time. Bonne chance.  Swissie If you want to stay on the French side, we have Metabief/Mont d'Or and Les Fourgs (which is just on the other side of the border to St Croix/Les Cluds). Easy to ski in France one day and in Switzerland the next. Or just above us (Swiss side) you have Les Cernets, with a nice family style hotel, right on the pistes. Pierre Eric the owner is a former Swiss Champion and he and his partner Karine, are really friendly. They do their own ski/boot rental.
  10. It seems that it was a disaster waiting to happen- just like new Orleans.  It seems nature is currently teaching us that we can't mess around with it as we previously thought we could. The UK government has come to the conclusion some time ago that not all sea defences cannot be maintained and that land 'stolen' from the sea will have to be given back to the elements in quite large proportion. I do not think many of us would buy a house below sea level now, or within 200m of crumbling cliffs, however pretty, romantic or good value.
  11. Friends left us this morning to return to Gignac- let's hope they get back safely. PS - just phoned to say they got home OK> Pheeeeeeew
  12. Here in the Jura it is a beautiful sunny day - but 'la bise noire' the worst East wind is blowing a gale- snow is drifting horizontally past our windows and creating the most amazing snow drifts I've ever seen - like Namibia but all white. Tried to take the dog for a walk, but had to retreat - even she wanted to go home!
  13. Glad to hear you enjoyed Les Cluds and the view Gemonimo. Hopefully you will visit again soon.
  14. I had a trial in Gran Canaria a few years back and loved it. Joined a course and sadly burst an ear-drum on first deeper dive and I was sick for 2 days. Shame as I loved it- but lots of ear infections as a child left me with weakened drums. Will have to stick to snorkelling in future.
  15. Il faut profiter du beau temps quand le soleil brille. L'air du Jura lui profite bien- elle a vraiment bonne mine depuis son arrivée chez nous.
  16. Anybody near Gignac? what is the situation out there?
  17. For total beginners, I'd say Les Rasses/Les Cluds near the small town of StCroix. It's all on the flat, has several cafés dotted around and fabulous views of the Alps. La Brévine is also great, but it can get very cold. If you do want more info. don't hesitate to ask - and do get in touch nearer the time so we can meet you on the piste one day. We live half way between the 2. see    www.sainte-croix.ch pm me if you need accommodation and guiding.  Where are you Rowland BTW?
  18. Trees and snow and anything nature provided to climb or slide on.
  19. My Zafira is left unused for months at a time in the UK. Open the door, turn the key and off it goes. Brilliant.
  20. Soggy bum and burnt top if you go cross country skiing in Alpine sun!
  21. Skis de fond would be very stable - but I'd have to go up side-ways.
  22. Groups from Leicester 50s Engelbert Humperdinck 70s  Showaddywaddy 80s  Cornershop 2000  Kassabian
  23. Can't wait to see the piccies Sweet- you'll defo make front page of Paris match. Do you know this reflexive verb  :   s'encoubler!
  24. Reflexives are used with the 'etre' auxiliary so must 'agree' Je me suis enrhumé/e ils se sont enrhumés   elles se sont enrhumées
