it's all over the website that they don't charge for using your debit or credit cards abroad at the moment, but I swear the bumf that came with my last flexaccount statement said this was going to change soon - I guess I'll just have to wait for next month's statement to see if I did misread it!

I get very similar exchange rates when taking out cash on the debit and credit cards from an ATM - I guess the differences are to with the way and what day they calculate it. Debit withdrawals appear online earlier than credit ones.

32. If you carry out a transaction using your Debit Card in a currency other than sterling, it will be converted on the date the amount of the transaction is debited from your account, at the wholesale rate of exchange applied by VISA.
