Does anyone know where there is a tool hire company near Chatillion sur Seine in north 89. Looking for mini digger and kango to hire. How much notice do they usually need? What would we do without this site?

You could try Kiloutou (http://www.kiloutou.fr/). They are a nationwide chain. Unsure about your particular area but their web site has maps/listings/details of all their outlets. Also, their web site has info on the equipment they have available (so you can check if they can supply what you want without having to go to the outlet).

We went to the local Bigmat and asked where we could borrow equipment.  Wespoke to the boss, but this was because we already knew him.  We were given three names within 5km, in a very rural area, and none of them were in the yellow pages.  We borrowed stuff from all three in the end, as they had different things they could lend us, and they all delivered to our house.  We also made three very good friends in the process.

I presume that they are willing to lend equipment, but also use it themselves on jobs.  They couldn't afford just to run a renting out business.
