When the Chief Constable in North Wales is going to recruit trained officers from Poland to put on the streets you can see the direction it has to go in . Not quite the same thing as some blanket assertion that Polish workers will empty all of our lakes of carp. Which is ridiculous. Are you suggesting (really) that gangs of Polish plumbers spend their off-duty hours in scuba gear spearing carp? How would that work, for example? How big are these lakes? How big are the carp? How expensive is scuba gear compared to buying fish at the market? How long would you have to do this for to kill all the fish? How many people would have to be involved in this? If they are doing it at night, how do they see? If it is in the daytime why does no-one stop them? And many other pertinent questions.A search shows that there has been ONE incident of a Pole trying to catch a carp (it is a traditional dish at Christmas in Poland) with a speargun and 'several' other incidents of conventional fishing.
