Monika Posted November 4, 2005 Share Posted November 4, 2005 I have read in the LF "Who will inherit your holiday home" that you could apply the Community Marriage Regime so the property goes to the surviving partner. Has anybody amongst you done this after you have bought the property. Do we just go to a Notaire and ask him to do this? After two years of marriage, you can visit a notaire to sign a deed that changes your arrangement."Our notaire has given us lots of booklets outlining the benefits and risks of different régimes (still have to plough through them but they are very useful. As I understand it, it is a real hassle once you are the owners and near impossible if you have children from previous marriages. Bon chance.
