EURGBP currently trading at 1.04 in Wellington time zone

EURGBP trading at 1.04 in NZ time zone, an all time low. The FX market is clearly thinking we could see parity by the end of the week in very thin trading.

To be clear, that is 1.04 Euros per GBP

yep, and like all cycles, it won't last for ever. The Irish are all buying from UK websites because all the leading stores have yet to change their pricing to reflect the exchange rate. So already the exchange rate will be improving the trade balance.

Last time I was in a dealing room 19 out of 20 trades were gambles / unwinding of hedge position. I do not  think it likely to have changed almost no real activity between Christmas and New Year worry about in on Janaury 7th.

My purchases at the builders merchant on Christmas eve were debited from my Nationwide account at 1.04.

At least I no longer have to calculate between the currencies!

Some lose some win, Sea France  Coffee anglais 2 euros,  1 litre of Smirnoff vodka 11 euros and a toblerone only 5 euros  Marvellous OK I only got 1.20 for the euros spent but if your income is generated in Euroland fill yer boots now[:D]
