Maricopa
I was really concerned about the effect of the strike on mail from UK to here, but a letter posted after 5pm in Basingstoke on Wednesday arrived here lunchtime on Friday[:-))]. Dog
Topical joke.... Why are the postals strikes all of two days duration? Because if the went on strike for a day nobody would notice......
Mr Coeur de Lion
If they hadn't been on strike, you wouldn't have received it til late next week!

Celine
I am (in the London area) still waiting for post sent nearly two weeks ago. It's probably in the backlog. As I am visiting my house in France mid December, do you think it would be sensible to post all my Christmas cards from outside the UK?
Maricopa
Not sure when the final posting date is within France for the rest of Europe, but it may be about mid December. Probably better to post them in the UK now.[:D]
Clarkkent
Here in rural Worcestershire, the postal strike seems to have made little difference. We are receiving daily deliveries of recently posted letters. Yesterday I received two packages by Parcelforce which were despatched from Manchester on Friday. I know two postal delivery workers and both are working normally.
spectateur
Enjoy whilst you still have it Clark.Modernisation followed by Privatisation will lead to the scrapping of your rural delivery service. Your delivery people will be sacked and you will have to go to Worcester to collect your mail.
