What happened to....
I thought you'd reply to that ppp [:D]
I'm sending you a pm about the forum I'm referring to , not sure if it was a spinter group.
Yes that was the forum.

The group banded together to get "Terry" banned but the lady moderator declined to accede to their increasingly threatening demands and even had the temerity to defend "Terry's" right of free speech. This provoked them into a collective choleric rage when they turned on the lady moderator, quiet unfairly, demanding that the Editor of "French News" fire her immediately. By this time the forum was little else but repetitive demands for lynching of the lady moderator; when one evening out of the blue rode a "white night" to the damsels defence. Each time a splinter group posted, the "white night" would reply with the same "cryptic comment". This went on for an hour or so, until the forum was taken off the air; never to return to the net.

The splinter group then set up their own exclusive forum which was rather amusing as it soon  became apparent that "Terry" was demanding to be a member; this resulted in the group rising to new levels of apoplexy.[:)]

The French News and indeed the French Forum are part of the historical legend of expatriate society. Indeed it would seem that with luck that the Phoenix may be restless and arising from the ashes. As a good luck omen the third edition of the French Week appeared on Friday the thirteenth. Many of the correspondents have a familiar ring not easily forgotten.
....by francophiles for francophiles.....but the blatant francophilia is notably deficient in french fluency.[:)]
Quite so, maybe it (and the blue one from whence it sprung) should read "by anglophobes for anglophobes".

Too many discussion forums seem unable to accept the fact that you can be pleased to be British, and like life in England, while still loving France. Even some users of this forum are afflicted in that way at times.

I don't think anything has happened to it, if that's the one you mean...
Forum has changed format with new main header and a different shade of "puke green" but previously one could leave the URL on "active topics" which made a quick check on the forum easy. Now this has been restricted to a full log-in search user profile making it more inconvenient for the casual non registered user.  Probably considering the original member base a natural evolution towards clannish isolation. No idea what Stephi is referring to in her post.
