idun
Dog, please, don't, they don't care about you and yours, they just care about what they can get.Mitterand, Bush, Clinton, Berlosconi, Chirac, Sarkozy, all shining examples of how republics work? I think not. Motley crew, yes, and the french ones have spent a fortune of 'our' money on their luxurious lifestyles and Mitterand on his illegitimate daughter. I know how much we have paid in France to the government over the years. I am prone to realism and not flights of fancy. I have no silly notion of a Queen in her palace wearing her crown etc etc and I know how much she costs and I know that tourists spend a lot because of their curiosity about the royals. Look at Gala magazine in France amazing how many homes I'd see that in in France. I wouldn't buy it.

Mr Coeur de Lion
If anyone could name one form of government / leadership that has worked in the history of humanity, I would be very interested to hear.Republicanism doesn't work, communism doesn't work, monarchy doesn't work, socialism doesn't work, real democracy doesn't even exist, it's just a case of picking one that works the best. And none of them do really, so it's just a case of getting on with it.And as I said before, whatever the system, we all get screwed by it, so why worry? I can't do a thing change any of it, so I just live my life as best I can and worry about what I can change.

Evianers
A great many South Africans, of all hues, are used to dealing with adversity of one kind or another. We lived there for many a long year and the populace, by and large, are the salt of the earth.
