Clair kindly made a 'Sticky' to explain this and many other things

You can't just cut 'n paste pics into this forum as the server would quickly run out of space so you have to create a link.  You cannot  link to a pic on your local PC as it will likely have a dynamic address and in any case when you turn it off the link is lost.  You need a picture server like Photobucket for example.  Anyway, it's all in the Sticky

Good luck

Ditto

The reason it worked is because the link is from a website and the html has been embed in to the forum just as in the same way as Photobucket. Photobucket is just a common photo hosting website but there are many more and the principle is the same. There's probably a bit of misunderstanding, we thought you meant photo's stored on your own PC which you can't do, you didn't mention that you had the photo's on the web somewhere else which is not a problem.

I forgot to mention. Please check the size of the photo before posting, if it is over 400 pixels wide resize it as it will effect the width of the post and the reply button will move further to right so it will not become immediately noticeable. If that happens and it's a real problem the moderators may edit the post to remove the link.
