Clair
Traditional wishes (by no means compulsory!) usually read:Joyeux Noël et Bonne Année à tousMore formally: Avec mes meilleurs vœux à l'occasion des fêtes de Noël et de la Nouvelle AnnéeAvec nos (if the wishes come from more than one person) meilleurs vœux à l'occasion des fêtes de Noël et de la Nouvelle AnnéePS: it's the thought that counts! I'm sure they'll appreciate it regardless [:)]

TWINKLE
Cendrillon, if Pads is on familiar terms with her French teacher then it's 'ta famille' - you're right, however if she is still vous voying her then it's 'votre famille'

TWINKLE
Ooops! I only just saw that. Right if you know her well then it's 'à toi et ta famille' otherwise it's 'à vous et votre famille'. Never mind sweetheart - like I said, she'll either give up teaching or think it's really sweet -like you[Www]

Tourangelle
Is it ta because family is a fem noun ?
Yes! the gender of the person doesn't come into it. So ta carte de voeux, is your greetings card, it could never be ton, because carte is feminine. Proof it has nothing to do with the nature of the word - le féminisme. The only time when it matters is for things like actor/ actress, or some animals, chien chienne, but not always, for example, la girafe.
