Joyeux noël

Nouvelle année heureuse

à toi et à votre famille

Im hoping this says:

Merry christmas , Happy new year , to you and your family

Am I Right ? [:)]

Thankyou

[/quote]

I think you want 'ton' insted of 'votre' as you are using 'toi' otherwise it isn't consistant with itself.

but the sentiment is just fine

Traditional wishes (by no means compulsory!) usually read:

Joyeux Noël et Bonne Année à tous

More formally:

Avec mes meilleurs vœux à l'occasion des fêtes de Noël et de la Nouvelle Année

Avec nos (if the wishes come from more than one person) meilleurs vœux à l'occasion des fêtes de Noël et de la Nouvelle Année

PS: it's the thought that counts! I'm sure they'll appreciate it regardless [:)]

Is it  ta because family is a fem noun ? as opposed to the fact im sending it to a lady ? would i of put ton if i had said you and your bird (masc word)

vous allez= we go

vous n'allez pas = we dont go

is that right   n'allez   dont feel right

Mmm, vous allez = you go

vous n'allez pas = you don't go (or - you're not going)

We go = nous allons

We are not going = nous n'allons pas

keep it up, it only gets easier

Yes!  the gender of the person doesn't come into it.  So ta carte de voeux, is your greetings card, it could never be ton, because carte is feminine.  Proof it has nothing to do with the nature of the word - le féminisme.  The only time when it matters is for things like actor/ actress, or some animals, chien chienne, but not always, for example, la girafe.
