Clair
I've jut seen the news on FR2 [:(]I can still remember the words to most of his early songs and it is quite sad that such a cheery person will not cheer us up any more...
Christine Animal
Yes, I was surprised and sad to see that today. He was such a jolly, bon vivant person. [:(]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-D7Dy_bEZ0
Frenchie
Did you know he was the son of the very famous child psychiatrist françoise Dolto??
TWINKLE
I didn't know that and was also surprised Frenchie!I met him in July when I did that live telly thingy for the Tour de France, I noticed that he'd lost a lot of weight and just put it down to getting older. I was having a drink before the show with Michael Jones who is J. Jaques Goldmans guitarist - also one of the 'chosen few' (Welsh[:)]) and we were slipping from English to French while we were chatting. Michael Jones was telling me that he was born at his grandmothers golf club in North Wales. I said "Oh - how funny I was CONCEIVED on a golf course in South Wales". Carlos who was also sitting at our table started shaking with laughter and I realised that at that point of the conversation I was talking in French! He later recounted that his doctor had told him that smoking too much could kill you so he'd given up smoking. Also that too much s e x could kill you too so he'd given that up too. When he told him that drinking too much could also kill you he simply stopped going to the doctors[:D]
