Will you be watching this on France 2 this evening? French people apparently happy to administer near-fatal electric shocks to fellow contestants in the name of TV game show entertainment?

Of course no shocks are actually delivered but the contestants (allegedly) are unaware of it.

I liked the following bit:

I thought that the French education system did a good enough job of that, I am not sure that TV can increase 100% willingness to obey.

Really?  Oh well I'm not going to watch it now.  I was looking forward to a few game show contestants being fried

It was extremely shocking to watch - and made me think of nazi Germany and other genocides. I do hope I'd be one of the ones who insisted on walking away as soon as realy pain was expressed and the 'Contestant' clearly wanted the electric shocks to stop. How people could continue is beyond me.

Yes but you should consider 2 things

1 - some people will do anything for their 15 minutes of fame

2 - a certainty that the participants were especially selected for their compliance.
