Thebiga
Hi, Can anyone tell about the law on having mirrors fitted to a motorcycle in France please. Thanks
Dog
They are probably legal necessary on new bikes. But anything goes otherwise. I wouldn't worry if you haven't got any.
Sunday Driver
Sunday Driver
Try this.....Every motor vehicle, with the exception of agricultural vehicles and devices having no closed cab, must be provided with one or more rear view mirrors of sufficient dimensions, arranged so as to allow the driver to watch from his/her seat, the road behind the back of the vehicle whatever the normal load, and where the field of visibility does not contain a notable dead zone susceptible to masking a vehicle getting ready to overtake.Every vehicle used for driving lessons, with the exception of motorcycles, must be provided with two internal rear-view mirrors and two side rear-view mirrors adjusted for the learning driver and the accompanying instructor. Vehicles being driven by learners whilst accompanied by a qualified driver under conduite accompagnée are not required to be fitted with two internal rear-view mirrors.Failure to comply with the above is punishable by a class three fine. Catrina Money
As there's no 'closed cab' on a motorbike so do we need them I wonder?
Thebiga
My thought on mirrors in the first place was that they completly ruin the looks of a naked bike, in my view anyway.Sports bikes with full fairing etc it all blends in and looks nice. I thought on a naked bike it would be nice to have one of the small rear looking cameras you can get now and you have the picture on a small screen up on the bars or somewere like that. But yes your thought on the no closed cab could be loophole I suppose. Sunday Driver
The 'no closed cab' exemption only applies to agricultural vehicles so unless you're riding a Harley Davidson.......[;-)]
