Sorry, I missed that one earlier - it's wonderful, very moody.

I had a great day out today. My favourite beaches (nearest to us) are those between Meschers and Royan.

It was just luck, but today I got to walk round all the headlands, and into caves I never knew existed before.

I also found a three legged plastic Rhino sitting on what seemed to be a large stone/pebble, but which turned out to be a piece of driftwood worn smooth. Both of these items came home with me, but I wish I had taken a picture of them where I found them.[:)]

It must be wonderful to walk there on a crisp sunny day in Winter when there is noone about and the light is so sharp.   [:)][/quote]

Christine, I've had a smile on my face all day. It was really fabulous.

There were some hilarious dogs too, chasing birds they could never hope to catch.[:-))]

Tresco, I was down in Charente Maritime on Saturday and before returning saw a sign to Royan, so turned left !   I ended up on the route touristique along the Gironde estuary (clicking all the way) until I finally got to Royan and was totally enchanted by it all.  These were taken at Royan.
