10 out of 10 for Leclerc

I bought a Philips electric razor at the beginning of March and unfortunately the on/off button started to play up.

Yesterday I took it back and explained the problem. The razor was taken from me, a brand new one was taken off the display shelf and given to me. My original till receipt and Leclerc guarantee were photcopied and I was then escorted to the exit and ushered passed the security guard with a cheery au revoir.

That's what I call After Sales Service.  [:D]

Yes, it does work well sometimes.  Our good experience was Geant.  Bought a CD/Radio thingy, first time hubby tried to move the aerial it came off in his hand.  Back to Geant, and except for the fact that we had to go and get a replacement from the shelves ourselves and take it back to the desk, same result, replacement - no problem.

Are you saying you were escorted off the premises???  That sounds more like Leclerc.

The branch was at La Roche sur Yon on the La Tranche road i.e. on the South side. They're the closest thing to the sort of customer service levels that we used to experience in the UK. I do agree however that it's down to the attitude of the franchise holder.

In my younger days I've been banned from several premises and escorted from others but on this occasion Leclerc wasn't one of them.  [:-))]

Mr Sunday bought a set of pendant earrings recently at Geant in Niort and when one of the dangly bits snapped off, we took a trip back down there to exchange them.

She needed a pee so whilst she popped off to the ladies, I spoke with one of the jewellery assistants and explained what had happened.

All I got was a unhelpful "Sorry, but we'll have to send them off for repair as it must have been her fault for sleeping in them".

I replied "You've obviously never met my wife  - I'm not risking my life by telling her that, so you'll have to try it..."

Her mate burst out laughing and promptly swopped them over for another display set......[:)]

I'm afraid that our experience with E.Leclerc was the exact opposite. We bought a double channel TNT decoder in February, and had to take it back 4 times before finally getting a 'bon d'achat' which went onto our loyalty card, in May. Mr FN was getting extremely p**d-off about it, and eventually threatened to 'porte plainte', which seemed to do the trick. We've decided not to buy anything electrical at that branch again. [:)]

I totally agree about the Leclerq problem.

We purchased two kettles from the Limoges branch, both were faulty after a couple of uses. They exchanged the first one, but the second time, they insisted that we used the refund on buying groceries from their store. I thought that under the EU rules, any faulty goods were due a refund.
