Mobile Network Availabilty

I have an SFR mobile phone and it cannot connect to the mobile network. I tried the SIM in another persons unblocked phone and got the same result. I don't know if there is a SIM problem, which I doubt, or the local tower is down as it has happened once before. Can I check somewhere on the web if the local network tower has a problem like i.e. a fault or for maintenance.

Don't know about SFR but Orange mobile was down for a couple of days here about 3 weeks ago, so it happens that the mast goes off.

Thank you for your reply. I did get a connect for a short time about half an hour ago but it has gone again. I was wondering if they have something like a status page for their mobile coverage although being France probably not.

They do have a status update on their website but to access it you need your SFR ID and password, so I couldn't access it or give you a direct link.

Thank you that was very helpful. I discovered that my local tower has been down since 7 April. It is taking longer to fix because it is a difficult problem plus they don't work at the weekends.

Just to say that all is working now. I got a bit worried because the message was that there was either a SIM failure or a network failure and I was worried I might be without a phone waiting for a new SIM to arrive. At least I know where to look next time.
