Spam sms now

Recommended Posts

I'm presuming. Trouble is I am awaiting a package so I wasn't sure what to do. So I googled and found a lot of people talking about this particular message. Anyway I've now blocked the number and didn't click on the link.

Anyone else had this before?

Companies are asking for 2 factor security now, ie your mobile number. As I consider most companies to have less than secure software and they love to profit by selling us out to other companies I am sure our phone numbers are sold as well judged by the increase in spam sms.

Hi Sue here are the answers:

Country = USA

Never ordered from them before it was ordered from an Instagram advert

The item was a buy one get one free of a cat carrier bag

Nothing particularly exciting and it said free postage.

USA companies sometimes don't register that there are people in other countries who might be interested in their products.

Potentially buying items from the US does often incur custom charges.

But I'm not happy about the supposed web address given as it is not Https .. which is the standard now.

It does seem likely to be a scam.

Postage from the US can sometimes take ages.
