cooperlola Posted September 3, 2007 Author Share Posted September 3, 2007 It is the result of when horses are having problems chewing, and leave moist lumps of un-eaten hay around - a sure sign that they need to have their teeth done and the accepted word for this action in English equine circles. But if next time you see your chap then maybe you could ask him what the word is. When mine (who is great so I have no reason to change him) turns up, I'll ask him!Thanks for that, though. I have a veterinary dictionary but it's not too comprehensive and the word certainly isn't in there. So I guess, as you say, it's just one of those things which has no direct translation.
