brebis Posted October 31, 2010 Share Posted October 31, 2010 We may be driving down from Calais to south of Bordeaux at Xmas including on Xmas Day. Will the service stations on the autoroute (usual route Calais-Alencon-Tours-Poitiers-Bordeaux) be open as well as the cafes, so we can get something to eat or drink and go to the loo etc. Don't want to just find petrol is possible with a credit card but the stations themselves are shut. AnOther Posted October 31, 2010 Share Posted October 31, 2010 Not looked specifically but can't say that I can recall seeing credit card pumps at autoroute stations.I'm pretty sure they are open 24/7/365 and even if the shop is shut the loos and coffee machines are still available. As long as we can get a coffee or chocolat chaud and some petrol we should be fine.No trucks with any luck too.Hope the weather's ok. I'm assuming the hotels near the main routes will be open as well, like the Ibis?
