Shopping in Andorra

What are the implications (if any) for buying white goods (fridge freezer) from Andorra and bringing back into France? My husband thought it might be cheaper to get one there, but I'm not convinced.

I live just 'down the road' from Andorra and would say that you'll get a much better deal on white goods in France (or Spain) for that matter.

As Andorra is not part of the EU - specific 'outside EU' tax free restrictions apply to Andorra (info available on line) for all goods imported into France. Even though the 'other goods' allowance is a fairly generous 900€ per adult before any declaration is required - the choice of white goods is pretty poor - possibly because they are all imported into Andorra to begin with!

There are many websites of all the main shops in Andorra so you can check before you go.

I'm pretty sure you'd be better off buying in France once you've taken fuel / tolls into account!

Thanks Simon, you have confirmed what I thought! I had done some "Googling" before posting and couldn't find anything that was cheaper than France, but thought I would double check on here.[:)]

About 16 cents (12%) a litre cheaper than the Ariège for Diesel - see link below.

May not be worth the trip up? Depends what you want to buy, what quantity and how far you're travelling.

If you're on the other side (East) of France, I paid €1.14 per litre for Gazole yesterday in Luxembourg

Nothing much else is cheaper though  [:(]
