Do you think that the 'plastic' lambris

Personally I would be worried about the steam and condensation generated in a bathroom especially in the cold weather(you should see ours after the boy has had his bath and run the water very hot) actually getting behind the lambris and causing havoc. I think you may be safer and cleaner with tiles in the long run.

We have some in our gite bathroom. As has been said the joints would not be fully waterproof and you could not use it behing a shower, for example unless you sealed the joints very well. However it does clip together very closely and I cannot think of any other problems with it. It gives you the opportunity to insulate behind as you will be standing it off the wall on battens. To cut down further on condensation install a VMC.
