Nicos Posted March 10, 2007 Share Posted March 10, 2007 the house we are buying has a lot of varnished tongue in groove pinewhich had gone very dark with age. I'm happy to beep some of it , butin the dark attic rooms it really needs to be brightened up!So- can you paint directly over varnish or will it need sanding a bit (or a lot) first?
