Hi,    

   can anybody suggest the name of a company or specialist in Brittany, who deals with wood boring insects especially Deathwatch Beetle please!!?

You don't specify where you are exactly, its a big area  but as suggested, try pages jaune under that heading for your nearest specialist. Check out their guarantees too before signing any contracts to do work.

Also check to what depth the treatment has to go into the big beams as it maybe necessary to treat hugely thick beams from both sides to get the protection. Get your ladders ready to check they have done this! Our company had to come back! They assumed that 'anciens anglais' would not get up the ladders and check!

It seems it is mainly floor boards affected so hopefully they will do both sides anyway to get rid of the little beggars, but we will definately check.

The french get ripped off too, our friend had deathwatch beetle treated about 20 years ago and four years later we were in his house and discovered it was back so the company who are a large reputable firm had to come back and re-do it! A lot depends on the techncien who carries out the work as to how good it will be.
