Has Anyone Used This Wood Treatment? (Cecil Professionnel)

It's currently on offer at the local 3M store: 20% free + 5ltr for 14,90 euros. It's for beams and cross-beams and is made by Cecil Professionnel. Apparently it's used as an insecticide and a reinforcer. Is it any good? It's not Xylophene though. Does it matter?

Préparation du support et application

- Sur bois anciens :

Si les bois sont attaqués : éliminer toutes les parties vermoulues, renforcer ou remplacer les éléments affaiblis .

It doesn't reinforce. It's telling you as part of the preparation to reinforce or replace weakened wood before you start...

Looks like a slightly better deal than Brico - depends how far one has to travel.

Normally, if a product is cheaper it contains more of the cheaper ingredient such as white spirit and the product will not cover the same area as the dearer one.

Then it can work out more expensive as you have to buy say 20-30% more .

Always look on can for %solids as this is the part of the paint which stays on the article painted --the rest is solvent which is only used to enable you to apply the paint.and then evaporates into the air.
