Neil Harper
Hellowill our electrical items work in france ie tv,dvd etc and can we change the plugs on them to europeanThank youNeil
Théière
Welcome Neil,Yes most items will work but your TV for the UK is normally a PAL set, whereas the French system is SECAM. Ok if you are using a sky box or humax though. Some more modern TV's can cope with multi systems so best check your instructions.
Department71
If you are bringing over a new tv (digital freeview tuner inside) it will work in France as long as your area is broadcasting French tv using their digital format. That is of course if you want to watch French tv. We did this with our old CRT digital tv, the only thing that does not work is teletext, but that is not a problem for us. Also just replace the english plug with a French one.Steve

Neil Harper
can you use a UK toilet pan and plumb it into the France system? Thank youNeil
Théière
Yes probably as most pans have a standard spigot size these days, probably best to check the diameter though as the pipe size is different 110mm v 105mm .You still won't get a tv signal though without an aerial [;-)]And I would'nt drink it either

BIG MAC
I dont have any problems with my UK toilet either, it's French and I don't drink it. Many of the cheaper loos sold in the UK sheds now are 'European' type a lot of them come in from places like Turkey
