This is a bit how long is a piece of string really,I think you can budget for a standard 3000 litre fosse and drainage field ,between 7,000€ to 12,000€ that should include soil study and other fees. But much depends on how the land.

Just had mine replaced. The original quote was about 6000 euros BUT problems were encountered at the start and the authorities required a special biological unit to be installed. This pushed the price up to about 8000 euros.

All the paperwork is in France and I am in UK at present. Will be in France towards the end of the month so will check and repost.

I would say that you have covered the range of costs!

OK, JUST my experience:

In Charente Maritime in 2007, installed an (at that time) all-singing, all-dancing fosse complete with Flygt pump (international brand and top of the range) for 9000 euros.  This sum included putting the soil back on the land but not for grass seeding or landscaping.

In 2011, had an estimate for a fosse in Loire Atlantique (dept 44) for 11000euros.  This would have been a micro system because there wasn't enough land and the water table was very high.

In 2013, opposite our house in the Dordogne, the neighbours had to install a new fosse (also on limited land) prior to selling and it cost 11000 euros.

If you have a specific house in mind, OP, it might be worth persuading the owner to get a quote.  Much does depend on if there is sufficient land for a bog-standard (ooops, sorry, these puns come out unintentionally) fosse or whether you need something more specialised.

OTOH, you can have my fosse in the Charente Maritime for free.  Well the fosse would be free, but the house it's attached to would have to be paid for!

Be sure you know exactly what system is in place at present - we were shocked to find our black and grey water all went through rainwater conduits.......  new fosse will require digging up half the garage and also, for other reasons, a sort of fancy eco-style processor.  Let your imaginations soar regarding the price and then double that.......[:'(]

If they say they don't know what pipes are there, it could be worth paying 300 euros or so for a camera investigation.

In 2003, we paid € 6500 for the installation of a 4000-litre fosse, complete with Flygt pump and holding tank, and a 35m² draining field (situated up a slope from the house, hence the pump) in the north of the Lot.
