Hi I wish I knew!!!!!! I didn't expect it to be a panel of 12!!!!  plus my son, myself Prof; Principle plus Orientation Prof. Basically Prof Princ. said her bit, then Orietation siad hers, then I spoke a little, then they asked my son many questions plus asked the PP questions, such as, how all the class behaved, what levels all other sudents were, how many had passed through, year of birth for my son, future plans, etc. One of the panel actually called me this evening, as it was the first case of a foreigner appealing! and they had all found a interesting case with lots of discussion, I suspect he thought I had been given the decision, but realised I had not he waffled on about my son and doubling, so I am guessing we lost.  Still no news is good news. A bit puzzled at who actually makes the decision, as he seemed to make out evryone made their views but the president made the decision.  Anyone know???   Lollie

Hi Its actually 3eme, to pass into 2nde.   His moyenne is 11.1, and I have been to see the Head today, and yes generally in the past she has overturned decisions, BUT this year there is a new proviseur, unfortunately THE ONE from the newspapers that has been suspended from three other schools and put here to retire, who has said no Conseil de classe decisions will be overuled regardless of parents wishes, they must appeal. The appeal is next Tuesday, very quick! and I must prepare a letter for the President de la Commission d'Appel for the meeting. His french and spanish have let him down this year, but all other moyennes are 10 or above, but my eldest son left 3eme with the same french moyenne and is taking his french BAC this time.   We have a tutor who now works at home with my son one evening each week in french and his progession since his poor 2nd term reflect this.   So fingers crossed. Hi Whilst searching for flights for Nantes, East Midlands in August, I have noticed that the flight times have changed to much later in the evening from end of July.  I have flights already booked in August for my niece who is travelling alone and has an onward journey by train to Leeds.   Ryanair have not informed me of these changes,  how soon in advance do they and what are my options at that point?? Well if we all print posters off there will be,  I have passed on to several friends in this region. Incidentally, it is three years ago since a little boy was taken from his bed at a centre des vacances in this area during the night. Lollie  Dept 44

My 16 year old son worked during July August last summer.   Do we declare his earnings on the tax form or not?   Two of our neighbours say we dont need this as there is discompensation for students who work the summer months!!!!  Anyone else know of this or is it just the french deciding what and what not to declare??    Lollie

School here as well, although Friday after Ascension is off as they worked a saturday as Open Day in March!! Not for me though, as I have arranged to take 22 school kids to jersey for the long weekend!! Lollie

Here,  no dogs allowed on beach after 9am or before 9pm between mid june and end of august.  Sounds reasonable to me, and generally it is too hot for them anyway.  So I think that at this time of year you will be prety safe to enjoy!

Thanks Ernie,    I did eventually get a reply from one of those numbers who in turn gave me an email address.   They responded by email within five minutes, confirming changes done at no charge! A reasonably cheap ending all in all, but will type slowly and clearly from now on. Lollie

Well so far,   Have not got through to Flybe, although have tried and held on  for 15 mins each time.   Ryanair answered first time within 2minutes,  changed the spelling mistake and charged £7 admin fee. Any tips for getting through to Flybe from France????? Lollie  

Its not a name change, its just two letters the wrong way round, the same first name and the rest of the surname, has no one esle ever had a typing error?? The flights not until July.   I will let you know how sympathetic they are tomorrow if I can get through!!  

I am wondering if anyone has booked tickets with Ryanair or Flybe online, and realised they have made a spelling mistake after booking.  I have booked flights and have realised I have typed too letters the wrong way round, Aps instead of Asp on a surname. A senior moment!!!  It is a genuine error, will I get charged do you think?  Ryanair are shut today so will call tomorrow. Lollie 

Hi, Sorry to stray off a bit here, but we acquired a stray kitten last October, and had her sterilised in February this year.  She has floppy belly syndome and seems to be constantly hungary, does the floppy belly ever disapear and what should we feed her daily,  we tried the food for sterlised cats but she seemed hungrier than ever; so changed her back to junior dried food morning and night plus a wet sachet at lunchtime, we still have to keep all our food covered if we leave the kitchen, she has a particular liking for butter and fat!! Having coffee with a friend this morning, she told me in the papers last week was a league table of all the public lycee in France marked by BAC results, on pupils who had not doubled throughout Lycee.    Anyone come across it or know if it is available on the internet? Lollie

Hi Recently I have started receiving lots of emails, diverted to my spam box, but usually are sent from a name, which will probably inclue something similar to true emails I receive, also there will be words in the titles same or similar to ones in my true box.  Is something reading my eamils or scanning sites I have visited to  pick out things that would encourage me to open the mails.  On the odd accasion I have opened the mail, not the attachment, it looks like a normal print email then instantly changes to something usually about finance??? Any advice, ideas?    I have Norton anti virus. Lollie
