1. Yes, it depends on how you use it BJSLIV. For someone like me who isn't resident in France & just needs to check email, it should be cheaper than the alternatives. I'd never surf at that price!
2. An alternative is a new service from Abroadband. You buy their dongle for just under £50 & the it's 59 cents a MB - you just pay when you use it, no monthly charge, etc. You need an Orange FR or SFR signal to use it in France See http://www.abroadband.com/en/GB/home for details. I'm thinking of buying one as it seems to be cheaper for my needs (in Brittany 10 -12 weeks annually). Has anyone else tried it? Many thanks.
3. I'm I just being a bit thick here, or does SFR now offer an internet dongle for 10 euros a month, even if you don't have one of their phones? http://www.sfr.fr/mobile-adsl/ This seems a good price to me. I wan't to use the internet on my laptop for the 10 - 12 weeks that I'm in Brittany each year. cheers, Roddy
4.
I'm thinking of getting one (a dongle) when I get to France to supplement our existing broadband service, Any thoughts from the tecchies out there as to best solution for me????
I've read that the supermarket chain Auchan now have a relatively cheap, USB dongle for internet access. Sorry, but I can't find the details this now. I did print them off, I'll have a look for it when I get the chance.
