  1. Agree with nectarine-fast service and good value. I get the cod liver oil for us and condroitin for the dog!
  2. Do you mean you will be hiring 'OUT' cameras??(at least use the correct terminology!) Of course you have to declare your income in France!
  3. thanks for link. Went to tax office- b and b is in our primary residence and therefore covered by our single licence. Yippee!
  4. Hi there. Has anyone had a letter recently from the 'Impots' about TV licences in Chambres D'hotes? Do you have to pay for tv's that are maybe in use for 2/3 months of the year? What about alarm/radios?
  5. IDUN-Harsh! This is a forum and I just expressed 'a view'. This is how it was for us-don't see how you can argue with that. 'Get out while you can'-while you are young enough;while you have the energy and while you have the wherewithal.
  6. We brought our 14 yr old over in 2003. It WAS hard for her to start with, BUT she had a thorough grounding in English which was invaluable and she spent last summer working full time as a bi-lingual receptionist. I'd suggest getting out while you can!
  7. I was quite affronted to see the London football club badges displayed in such a prominent position on the site. We support a team north of the Watford gap and hope not to see such bias again!!
  8. What's going on-haven't been on for a while and was greeted by a host of london football club badges. Not good, and if my husband sees them, as he supports a team north of Watford gap he won't be reading the site again!
  9. anyone know where I can get fresh beansprouts on  a regular basis? I live in 22 near Guingamp. thanks.[:)]
  10. thank you all so very much for your replies to what I thought would be a simple question-I didn't intend to start WW3!! Now, I was thinking of asking a question about healthcare......................[:)]
  11. Just want to clarify something for a friend_If you leave England before you are 60 does that mean you are never entitled to the winter fuel allowance even though you've paid your taxes etc. for over 40 years?
  12. Thank you very much. Refused CMU de base but really unsure of reason. Told to get private 'top_up' insurance which we did today because can't stand the uncertainty any more. Daughter is away at college in week so needed to be sure she would be cared for. Our grasp of french is pretty  good but am mentally exhausted with all this and feel I've just thrown in the towel. We are with Guingamp CPAM(dept.22)
  13. hi, first timer here, moved to france in 2003-no problem joining health system.Offered CMU because of low income. Was in CMU in november of last year. Now, because my'early' pension has taken our income over some limit that I am not aware of ,CMU has been withdrawn. We have operational carte vitales. Also, we have a 19yr old daughter in fulltime education who is having to pay for her prescriptions_is this correct?
