1. same as the other sites answers I guess - MSA for anything gardening Steve
2. Out of the 30 pools we look after, perhaps 6 are desi pools - Never have a problem with them if you look after the water balance and wash the bags in your washing machine every week. DO NOT USE ANY FLOC - it will clog the bags and render them useless. We have in the past turned a desi pool from thick green slime to cystal clear - we changed perhaps 30% of the water and then its filter/clean/filter 24/7 - it will suddenly change. I admit they are not as 'easy' as a sand filter but 10 times easier than a 'magilan' pool with the paper filters. You dont get too wet when changing a bag and a lot easier to close for winter - just take out the pump and store it somewhere dry . Hope this helps Steve
3. Good luck with that - we went through 2 gearboxes and 3 transfer boxes on one fourtrack - We swapped it for a trooper in the end! Steve
4. Is it definately sand or more a fine dust? If the latter, then short term cure is to add some floc to the water so it collects it all up in bigger bits then do a long long backwash with rinses in between a day or so later It could be that the sand has tracks through it if it hasnt been backwashed for long enough /often enough. Either that or the sand needs changing or there could (unlikely) be a damaged  vein in the filter? Steve
5. gosh - i had forgotten that one! Steve
6. Not as much as 'hunting' oops thread drift! Steve
7. depends if your pool man is any good Steve :)
8. close off the bond and just use the skimmers to suck em in! Steve
9. Try putting some floc in the pool if its a sand filter - vac it up when its all clumped together then back wash it away. Or change your sand to Zeolite :) Steve
10. Cya should be 30-50 and TA 80-120 + Steve
11.
Hello What do you mean by declare, do you mean that this is your net revenue after expenses etc (as in the real regime you get to deduct actual expenses and account for VAT), if yes then that's probably about right, if you mean 50% of gross then that is more than you should be paying.
Yes. Like wise, we always get a  tax rebate even though we have never paid it (low income, poverty line etc etc)
12. Sorry, didnt make myself clear - total min cotisations are 4k - MSA I think are the only ones who do all the extras for you - Med, pension, etc etc - they are the only agency we pay anything into - whatever we declare (now in the 'real' regime) its about roughly speaking 50% - so if we declare 10k we pay 5k TOTAL cotisations to MSA Steve
13. When we first started up we were a Micro and paid something like 1300€ a year for the first 2 or 3 years until we increased our customer base - we found after making a claim for medicine, that we were not covered by MSA as we didnt pay enough into the system! The 1300 didnt give us medical cover .....In year 3 we also recived a bill for 5k to catch up on the last 2 years . They have a minimum cotisation of about 4k (to give you the 70% medical cover). Each year is  worked out on the previouse 3 years declared revenues, so if you have 3 great years and a rubbish one you could end up paying more than you earn............. Oh the joys of the MSA. We have been with them for 8 years now and reckon we could have sussed them out by next year! Steve
14. MSA who are the organisation gardeners have to belong to, have not signed up to AE. Why should they when they can charge a minimum of about 4k per year in cotisations, or roughly 50% of your profit/turnover depending on the regime). So as an AE if you only earn 10k, with the AE system you be giving away around 25% - with MSA its 50% or 5k. Steve
15. I had a HD in the old UK days - didnt go, didnt stop, didnt go round corners, but it didnt matter! Steve
16. AE is fine if your buying and selling on ebay for example - it cant be used for Artisans (soon run out of margins with materials) or even gardeners (according to MSA). What about those of us who want to expand our businesses ? We could but wont as the implications are just too great, so we struggle along 'giving' work away rather than emloying directly. Steve
17. CYA level? It could be high and all the chlorine in the pool wont work with high CYA. Steve
18. Me again - a lot depends on the type of kit the gardener uses. If for example you have 3000 sq m to cut, Matey with a brico machine turns up and charges 18€ an hour, but takes 3 hours to cut it them thats 54€. If I turn up and charge 25-30€ an hour but take 1 hour to do the same job then my hourly rate sounds expensive but works out nearly half price! Hence we quote per job nowadays. There are people who charge 15€/hr doing what we do, but we know they wont be about in a year or two as they cant make a living at that. WHat you need is someone you can trust to do the job without taking the pees and you can rely on. Steve
19. We no longer charge by the hour, but by the job - we have a large Kubota that cuts and collects around 3000sq m an hour, so have to ask what would you be happier paying ? 30€ an hour or 60€ a cut? Steve
20. dam, missed it & there was me who used to work in the wind tunnels that developed the wings! (well before my time though!) Steve
21. Easy way to find out - fill a bucket with water to the same level as the pool and place it on the steps (you know what i mean) - if its a leak, the bucket will have more water than thepool after a period of time, if its evaporation, levels will be the same Steve
22. I know of 2 motors that have 'gone' this year - both around 3 years old and not used a lot. About 1000€ to replace eeeeek Sorry- I hope its the transformer. Steve
23. Yes, vipers can kill a Dane - My Parents had a GSD who was tagged by a viper /Adder in UK - he got to th evet in time, but a Dane who was bitten afew times did not even make it off the moor. Be careful with your dogs, watch them all the time for different behavoir, could be ticks, snakes etc Steve
