1. It look's good to me, go for it.[:D]
 2. A department number would have helped to narrow it down, but if you Google "british food products in france, montmorillon" you may get your result.
 3. Have a look on this site. http://www.ffmc.asso.fr/spip.php?article1564
 4. If you can read French, you may find some info here.http://www.acabe.fr/virement-etranger.htm
 5.
Very much ouch! Your wife must be going to get millions in her pension! I was quoted about £445 per year to buy NI past years by the Pensions Advisory Service, which would then pay out about £1200 per year pension. As I said earlier, I didn't have any gaps in payments when I enquired, but if any of you out there have NI payment gaps it's very well worth looking in to. Jo
On the same subject, don't forget if you had children or were a carer and gave up work to care for them from 1978 onwards; you may be able to claim Home Responsibilities Protection (HRP) and get credits for your retirement pension.[:D]
 6. You may be able to put in a clause before your signature, something like. "Je signe et accepte cette devis, seulement dans la condition que tous ces travaux seront payés par la Compagnie d'assurance traitant ma déclaration de sinistre." Maybe someone else can say if the French above is good enough.

 10.
What's to work out. It's an EU regulation that a vehicle may remain in another state for a maximum of 6 months before requiring re-registration.
Yes, If the person is going to be a resident in another EU  country, not as a visitor Your post said, non residents can use the vehicle for six months without registering it, there is no time limit for a non resident.
 11.
Yes, and ?
I will leave it for you to work it out.[:D]
 12.
Which is exactly what I said,
The above applies to French residents, non residents can use their car for 6 months during which time it must remain fully UK road legal.
So I don't understand the point you are trying to make [8-)]
"non residents can use their car for 6 months"?
 13.
My French is shaky but I think that says exactly what I did, if you are French resident you have one month to register from the day you became so. Are you confusing French Resident with French National ?
No I am not confused[:)] It says basically, a foreigner only needs to register their vehicle in France when they become a resident of France.
 14.
The above applies to French residents, non residents can use their car for 6 months during which time it must remain fully UK road legal.
I think you will find that's not quite right. "L'immatriculation d'un véhicule dans un département français ne s'impose à un ressortissant étranger qu'à partir du moment où il y a déclaré son domicile."
This may help, sorry the link is not real - I use Firefox and the forum doesn't like it http://france.usembassy.gov/root/pdfs/rennes-documents.pdf
I use FireFox as well without any problems with links, paste the link into your post, then highlight it, then click on create link, paste the link where it says "enter a URL" that's it.

 19. The wording on the claim form is quite clear, if your "Avis d'impôt sur le revenue" has the following wording, then you can claim. « Au vu des éléments que vous avez déclarés, vous n’êtes pas imposable a l’impôt sur le revenue »
 20.

even abroad?
Yes. This used to be a hot potato, but in 2006 this got to the Court of Appeal and it confirmed this applies to everything you buy. Whether it’s in the UK, abroad or on a foreign website, Section 75 applies. This is a real boon, as often if you buy something abroad it’s much more difficult to get in touch with the retailer. So don’t bother, simply make a claim directly against the credit card company. For more details : http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/section75-protect-your-purchases Baz
Buy does this apply to a french resident using a UK credit card?
 21.
Hello PD, nice to hear from and for your kindness. Well, thanks to you guys, I think I have a solution which is to remove part of the female joint. As long as it is supported, then it works. And it is strong. I danced on an experimental piece holding my dog and it did not break.
I wouldn't expect the dog to break[:D]. You do get a lot of expansion in the flooring, so you need to be sure the joint is ok.
 22. ASFAIK.  the gaz test is only required if you have natural gaz installation, more than 15 years old. The new electricity test, again is only required on an instalation, more than 15 years old.
 23. I also leave a cheque for the deposit. As for topping up the brake fluid that was not a good idea, either the brake pads were worn out or there was a fluid leak. I would have refused the van.
