  1. Hi, is there such a thing as skip hire here and if so what's it called in French? Thanks
  2. Contact Lynn Stone of Chats Du Quercy telephone: 05 63 94 73 97 she will be able to advise you on what to do with them. Good luck and please don't give up on them.
  3. Both of mine were neutered from a young age and there was six years difference in age between them but it didn't stop the younger one challenging the older one at every opportunity in the end. We tried everything to keep them both but after consulting a pet therapist there was only one thing we could do and that was to separate them. I really hope you can get a new home for Verso where he will be happier.
  4. Hi I had the same problem with my two standard poodles and had to rehome one of them in the end, I was heartbroken. Try Total France and Anglo Info sites as they both seem to get a lot of responses for rehoming. Good luck
  5. What a beautiful story Pads. It just goes to show what patience can do for an animal. Well done to you and your husband.
  6. William is still looking for a forever loving home. I can email photos to anyone who may be interested in seeing him as I don't have a clue how to put photos on here!
  7. I'm looking for a loving forever home for one of my standard poodles. William will be 3 on 30 Nov. He is a very happy dog a bit shy when he first meets strangers but once he gets to know someone he is fantastic. Unfortunately he can no longer live with my other standard poodle Louis as he has decided he wants to be the dominant dog and challenges Louis at every opportunity but Louis wont back down which has resulted in a "I will kill you if you don't kill me first" battle. William gets on very well with my other 3 smaller dogs. The last six weeks he has been going to dog classes with a behaviourist who informs me that he is getting on very well there but recommends that he shouldn't live with another large male dog but would be quite happy with smaller female dogs. He gets on well with cats. He is neutered. Chip no: 250268500174073

    Cats

Hi I think what you are after is Feliway it stops the cats scratching furniture and it also helps to stop them spraying too.
  9. In Tarascon-sur-Ariege which is not far from Foix there is an English vet called Graham Hart.
  10. I am in desperate need of a foster home for one of my standard poodles. I have two males who have started fighting at every opportunity and it has now got to the stage where I can't have them together at all. My daughter in England is going to have one of them from January 2012 when the regulations are lifted but until then I need a foster home for William. Please before you judge me as a bad owner I have tried everything I can to keep them together. I will travel anywhere to deliver him.
  11. Hi I'm sorry I can't give any help regarding the dogs but I'm sure if you put the above on "Total France" forum under the pets section you will soon get a reply. I've been thinking all night about these poor little mites and feel as helpless as you.
  12. Oh Merlin how very sad but at least he was loved by you in his last few months, bless you.

    Oster Clippers

I have only used the blade once before so it cannot be blunt. It's a real pain because I have two dogs that look like they've been dragged through a hedge backwards!!

    Oster Clippers

I have Oster A5 two speed clippers for clipping my two dogs as taking them to a professional groomer is too expensive. The problem I have is that when I start using the clippers on their fur it's fine but after a minute or so the blades stop working properly. I have tried many things to rectify this I have cleaned the blades thoroughly, oiled them, not oiled them. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do next? My dogs are a standard poodle and a standard poodle crossed with what looks like a spaniel. cheers

    Cat Worming

Hi The wormer for cats that you put on the back of the neck is called Profender spot-on. There are sites that you can buy it from but I haven't found any that's cheaper than the vets. I use it all the time now and it's certainly easier than getting clawed or bitten!
  17. Merlin you have made me cry again, but in a good way. You are wonderful well done.
  18. OMG it had me sobbing I'm so glad they were rescued but how many more are out there with no help!
  19. Hi Rowan Any news on Alex and how he is coping? best wishes Deborah
  20. Try posting on Total France under the pets section, there are vets on there that give quick replies. Good luck
