1. Yes, going in tommorow to cancel, having finally received my certificate of resiliation from my mutuelle top up (thanks to pressure from a sympathetic notaire).  From my daughter's experience when they tried to cancel a direct debit I don't think that I will be in time to stop the January 1st premium from going out but assume that the mutuelle will put it back at some point.  I believe that my daughter also had to pay a small fee to cancel a direct debit with CA. Londoneye, I am stopping myself from digging any deeper into what is set out and what is not.  Given what has happened to us I don't really care if anyone chooses to check, I will face the consequences. I've had enough of being "British"  playing by all the rules and seaching to find even more that should be adhered to.  Regards, Hester.
2. Thanks for the reply, I just hope that a further statement might also give some" breathing space" Regards, Hester.
3.
We are doing our best to get a better outcome than Friday's statement suggests......do not give up hope yet, we are well aware of the problems that people like you still face.  And those of you who got relief from Friday's statement should not give up on their behalf either! www.frenchhealthissues.eu
Thanks Cooperlola, Hester.
4. Well the first two D's are a distinct possibility at the moment!  As I'm not in a position to purchase PMI at the moment we'll have to see what happens.  Hester.
5.
if you then experience an 'accident of life', ie something that happens that is outside your control and which makes it no longer possible for you to afford your private heath insurance, then you may appeal to join the CMU.  The event must have been unforseeable at the time of entry into France.
I wonder if this clause could apply to some of us who have been here for a couple of years or more whose E106s run out Jan 2008. Something has happened outside of our control - ie CMU affiliation rule changes No longer possible for us to afford health insurance - previously UK funded via E106 so met the requirement for health insurance on arrival. Unforseeable at the time of entry into France - had at that time sufficient funds to see us through until E121 Hester
6. Please could you tell me where I can find the spreadsheet that Ninthace has done? Thanks, Hester.
7.
"looks like we may be able to stay in the CMU so don't rock the boat posts" from those who either got here ahead of us or paid less NI than we did; or to put it bluntly in Jackspeak, the <<s*d you, I'm inboard>> approach.
For me it's the injustice of it all.  A neighbour arrived similar time to us and joined the CMU this January 2007 when their E106 ran out. If only we hadn't had to two and a half years E106, if only we had managed to sell up and get here in 2004 as was planned, if only............ Still haven't done anything about PMI, suppose I'm still hoping that it might go away, but January 5th is looming!
8. From one who is "sh*t scared" like a rabbit trapped in the headlights thanks Cooperlola and everyone else for hanging in there for us.  Regards, Hester.
9. Thank you SD.  I will contact look for the details of the moderator in my documents.  I did go back and speak with the manager, she agreed that she would accept the letter then phoned to say that after a "meeting" it was not acceptable.  Regards Hester.
10. Thanks, the site mentions using an "advocat" for consumer related issues so maybe one could help me also. Hester/2
11. I am having problems cancelling an insurance policy under the terms of "Loi Chatel" and I would like to get help from a third party.  This law seems to come under the umbrella of consumer protection and I wonder if anyone could suggest where I might get further advice - a Notaire maybe? Thanks, Hester/2
