  1. Share them with me then  [:D][:D]
  2. If I tell you I  will  have  to kill you  [:D]  Plus, I am  thinking of all our waist lines as summer will be here soon, you remember summer don't you.
  3. NormanH, I even know of places here in France where I can have an "All day English Breakfast "  but I have not surcumbed yet.  [:)] [:)]
  4. Why should we not have something that we have been brought up with now and again ? We may live in France and thoroughly enjoy all things French including the food but I am sure French people living in England have a national dish now and again. I hate the attitude that if we chose to live in a different place we have to forget all we knew before. In fact, even French people like English Fish & chips and make up half of the customers in a Chip Shop over here. A little of what you fancy springs to mind.
  5. We are going to England soon for a special family event and I cannot wait just to feel warm as most days the weather is better in our area there than here.  The kids there have great delight in letting us know that as well.  [:)] [:)]
  6. Hello Christine, I live in Deaux Sevres and it has been sunny all afternoon albeit windy. I did not see any snow but the evenings are still cold and I still hog the fire.
  7. We have found restaurants open on that day but maybe only in the big towns.
  8. Creme Proffesional from SuperU...excellent for whipping to a thick consistancy very quickly.
  9. They scare me to death and I dread going on a long drive. When we drive back to UK we have a six hour drive to the Ferry and I am on a knife edge until we are on the boat. I know  there are some idiots in the UK but I do believe it is worse here.
  10. Hello ali -cat Definately not drripping and I think she mentioned Palm oil but it is definately oil. It was a bit noisy with a lot of people all chatting so I may have got the name of the oil wrong but it should be fine for you.
  11. Oh my gosh, Sweet 17, I would be at screaming point by the end of the meal. We had ten visitors last August and I said if someone wanted something different then they would have to sort it out themselves. Fortunately, they were my kids and Grandchilren so no offence was taken. It did all go quite well as it was summertime so it was mailnly BBQ's and inveriably something for everyones palate. Go and have a nice lie down in a darkened room with a wet towel over your head  [:)] [:)]
  12. We bought from a French/English independant company and we were not aware it was owned by both a French and an English lady. We went into the Immobilier as they had the property we wanted in their window. The English lady dealt with us and the company were excellent even accompanying us to the Notaire on several occassions and organising the change of ownership with the utility companies for us as our French at the time was poor. I would highly reccommend this private compny to anyone. No one can blame an agent at this time if a property does not sell as the market is slow but this company sell to the French as well as to English people.
  13. I never thought to ask them what they used for frying. I was too excited about getting some. I can ask next time I go if you want me to.
  14. St Malo, a bit to far for me to offer to be a waitress though. A few empty shops in our nearest town that would make nice chippy shops  ( hint hint ) [:)]   [:)]
  15. They are an English couple and yes, the chips are real  chips, nice big fat ones and not frozen ones. All in all a nice treat.
  16. They were selling mushy peas but I declined them this time but  OH had curry sauce which he said was very nice. I just like my chippy supper with salt and vinegar, bread and butter and a nice cup of tea.
  17. Hello Sid Same people but Ruffec is too far away for us so at least now the occasional chippy supper is quite handy for us.
  18. I am now in heaven having had delicious Fish & Chips from the spotless mobile van in Sauze. Such a pleasant young couple running it and for the time being it is just Thursday evenings so please don't call on me next Thursday as I will be in Sauze Vaussais buying my supper.  [:)]   The prices were very good as well so I hope it gets supported to enable them to continue, we all  need to earn a crust in these difficult times.
  19. Thank you Cat, may take a drive there later. I absolutely love Fish & Chips, always have and although I make homemade it would be nice to have a treat now and again.  I hate Sausages, Burgers and Pizza so this is my only vice.  Mmmm, my  mouth is watering just thinking of them and OH has always said I don't cost much to keep as I have very simple tastes. [:)]
  20. I was told today that there was an English  Fish & Chip van every Thursday in Sauze Vaussais. Can anyone give me information on whether this is accurate or not.

Yes, I heard that as well. Someone took him back to the breeder who I think is another politition but not quite the same as going to the dogs home and giving a dog a home.
  22. Yes, it worked for me as well...love it  [:D]

I agree with you WJT as all my dogs over the years have been rescue and we have been so lucky with them. Maybe Obama was concerned for his two girls as not always with a rescue do you know the history and behaviour of the dog. I have never had any problems and we had four children and I was always aware that ANY dog can turn so the children were never left with a dog on their own and the children were taught that a dog is not a toy and the dog deserves respect.

Yes, Christine, totally adorable and stunning dogs when the are fully grown. It said on the TV this morning that in the UK there are only apprx. 500 of the breed so hopefully now this will increase the demand for the breed. They are supposedly excellent with children which I am sure Obama would have alredy checked out as well.
