1.
Not sure when the forms etc would have been issued but we had a post re-direct until the end of June.
Not issued until September.
 2.
Still don't understand how they would have got that address as we never gave it to anyone.
I understand that when the acte de vente (which would have had your address in the Netherlands) was registered at the equivalent of the Land Registery, this info would have been passed to the HDI.
 3.
We don't have an old UK address!  We came here from the Netherlands, but at no time do I recall giving our Dutch address to any official bodies (other than to the notaire).
They have probably gone to your address in the Netherlands.  Carry on and contact the HDI.
 4.
I think we may have been forgotten too.  We moved here a year ago, paid the bit of tax to the end of 2008 (via the notaire so she could reimburse the previous owners for that portion of the years' tax).  And we have received and paid for water so it is not as though we are nowhere to be found in the system.  Not received any forms or demands for payment for 2009.
It is very likely that they could have gone to an old address in the UK. Suggest you visit/ get in touch with the HOTEL DES IMPOTS for your area (do not confuse with the TRESOR PUBLIC).
 5.
Had my poele thoroughly "ramonaged" today, cost €60 (inc TVA).
Same cost here.
 6.
If you can afford to ignore nearly £300
It's not a question of being able to ignore, more a question of having nothing to take advantage of/ dip out on. Clearly, there are those who need to take notice of these things, guess I'll never really be in a position to get it.[:D]
 7.
on their website today but it was 'down' for maintenance so will try again tomorrow.
For anyone interested, website back working now, so codes can be ordered again.
 8.
Have you seen it tonight 1.1156
QED[:D]
 9.
A movement of just 4 cents
I think you are missing my point.  Of course a movement of 4 cents makes a difference, but I am talking about people following and reporting the minutae of changes.
 10.
I could point you in the direction of some software that tracks the minute changes
er....no thanks, as I said I am really not bothered.
 11. Surely whether your getting 1.057, or 1.058 doesn't make such a difference that you would hold out in the hope that you might just catch a wave as it were.
 12. This has been puzzling me for a while, and as I was discusiing this the other day with a friend, I though I would post here. There is a long running discussion on here about the "pound being on the brink".  Whilst I can understand people discussing events and the possible effects they have on exchange rates, what I have never quite got is why people follow each infinitessimal change in the rate.  This is something the vast majority if not all of us on here can do anything about, so why bother about it.  I would have thought you would drive yourself mad constantly watching the exchange rate, it is what it is.  Before everyone jumps on me about the reduced value of pensions etc, I do genuinely sympathise, but still see little point in paying such detailed attention to the instantaneous exchange rates.
 13.
Hello do you have any further info on this?
Welcome to the forum.  I think parsnips was refering to this thread.
 14. See Clairs update here for details about this year.
 15.
Maricopa, do you have the URL for a CEAM application please ? I am struggling trying to find the right site.
See here.
 16. Yes, rate of chlorine consumption does depend on water temperature.[:D]
 17.
if it hasnt got a sticker saying it conforms, then it wont.
I think you may have missed the point (apologies if you didn't) that the OP has already got conforming security, this additional fencing is for his own peace of mind.  Therefore, does this additional fencing really have to conform?
 18. Not sure when the final posting date is within France for the rest of Europe, but it may be about mid December.  Probably better to post them in the UK now.[:D]
 19. Hi Jetlag. I notice you have asked another question related to being a micro entreprise.  In that case you need to apply for your EHIC on the RSI/ RAM site, the Ameli site is only for those that access their healthcare through the CPAM.
 20. Welcome to the forum. As a rule of thumb, if you can earn money from it, and you live in France, you have to be registered.[:D]
 21. It's the CEAM (Carte European Assurance Maladie).  Apply online at http://www.ameli.fr/.
 22.
Can't get out of the pompiers calendar. They come round knocking door to door poor blighters.
Just as long as you water them (preferably with added Pastis of course!)[:D] they'll be fine.
