  1. Oh dear, oh dear, definitely having a senior moment as this morning decided to fill the car with diesel, however, for some reason my mind was on my petrol strimmer thinking I must get it serviced. The car already had just less than a quarter tank of diesel but I put in about 2 litres of petrol until I realised my mistake!!!! Continued to fill up with 40 litres of diesel on the premise that it would somehow weaken the petrol and mix it all up!!! Do I need to take any further action or will it somehow be alright weakened down?
  2. Pommier, thanks for the lone reply! Actually I now think that if I used the cement it would stick quite hard to the face of the tiles, but the special grouting stuff when dry rubs off easily, so I guess I've answered my own question!!
  3. I bought a small tub of this stuff to put up some mosaic tiles in a small salle d'eau. Having about half the tub left over I am wondering if I could use it as jointing between the tiles. Normally UK stuff say it is for sticking and jointing but this does not. Any thoughts?
  4. Hah, nice one Chancer!!! Not had the facture yet, but I will swallow some pride and let you know.
  5. Anton and Chancer, thanks for the information, however I have to admit I chickened out and called in a plumber who, surprisingly turned up that day, and he changed the Groupe de Securitie. But ........I did watch what he did ready for next time and it did seem to me that all it required was a good clean to get rid of the calcaire!!!!!
  6. The Groupe de Securitie on my ballon d'eau has suddenly started to flow continuously. Is this a job for a plumber or is there a fairly easy way of fixing this?
  7. Thanks Pickles, you were right, but we went on to Meyruis instead. As a matter of interest we got stuck just before the summit of Aigoual in a snow drift, got a bit hairy but managed to shunt back and forward to get free!!
  8. Popping up to Mont Aigoual tomorrow with visitors, does anyone know if the restaurant come snack bar is open at this time of the year?
  9. Soupagirl Got your PM, glad to be of help, will post ASAP.
  10. Bought 2 propagators on a recent visit to UK and included in each was a selection of different seeds, one of which was a packet of purple sprouting broccoli containing 200 seeds! If you PM me with details I can send one of the packets on to you.
  11. Normally I go back to UK around this time and buy a load of plug plants to bring back, however due to the bad weather all supplies are well behind this year, so no plants!! However I am sure it is possible to buy in France plug plants by internet, so has anyone any recommendations please?
  12. Read Sepulchure and enjoyed it, now in the middle of Labryinth and after will conclude with Citadel!!
  13. Has anyone downloaded this new app yet? I can't find it anywhere in PlayStore, I am assuming it is an International app!

  15. Oh dear, sorry about this but just checked again and this book does not cover 3 phase and has not very good reviews!!!!!! Lesson here is check before you post!!!
  16. Just came across an article in the now defunct The French Paper, a book called "Electricity in your French house". Written by Thomas Malcom who apparently is a French resident retired electrician and can be bought at Amazon.co.uk or www.eyrolles.com I have absolutely no connection with this publication!! Just checked with Amazon and it is still in stock together with a Kindle version.

  18. Val2 Thanks for that, I had been interested in one of Jamie O's 15 minute meals which called for cottage cheese but gave up as I couldn't find it in usual suspects.
  19. Hear, hear Norman, cracking games from England and Italy, long may it continue........I did feel sorry for les bleus though
  20. Checking out my bank statement from CA and noticed quite a few debit payments for 1€ which seemed to be ATM charges. Upon checking with the bank it seems that CA allow only 4 withdrawls from other bank's ATM's per month, thereafter each withdrawl is charged at 1€, irrespective if the host bank itself charges or not. This I did not see in the small print!!!
  21. Quillan I have 4.2.1 version. There is a message at the top of the screen which says....Your device isn't compatible with this version. Perhaps there is another version, although I can't find it.
  22. I see the Prophets of Doom are out and about again
