    FERVEX

As I'm fed up with an extremely runny nose, constant sneezing and a dry cough I went to the pharmacy today and they gave me Fervex. Has anyone taken this recently as along with the cough mixture I was given Humex for dry coughs I want to know if there are any bad side effects?
  2. Has anyone heard of these and if so what shops accept them for a purchase? I've never heard of them myself
  3. Thanks to all for replying, and Sue I loved your cat story and hope she enjoys her visit to UK for Christmas. Tickets are now booked, it will be a first for us with our lovely doggie but I'm sure she would rather be with us than kennels!
  4. Thank you both for your clear instructions, now to see if its worked.
  5. I find this annoying is there a way to turn this off? We have an answer machine on our own phone but unanswered calls seem to be directed to 3103 and then when I want to listen to messages I get the usual Orange music so I presume it's a way of clocking up the euros. This has only been happening for about 3 weeks. Thanks
  6. We know we have to see our vet here between 1 - 5 days before travelling. However when leaving the UK to return to France (a week later) do we need to see a UK vet before departure? We haven't done this before so it's a first for us.
  7. Yes, good news Grecian, well at least for no spread, obviously not the bit in-between. You will feel better now, and once a treatment plan is organised you'll feel much more confident that you can beat this C thing. I've found with my treatment here in France, some professionals are nice and caring, even if they speak no English, yet others are absolute pigs. I suppose you would find that wherever you have treatment. Go and enjoy the vin rouge, medicinal of course.

    CPAM threshold

We haven't received our usual letter yet advising of next years cotisations, is anyone else still waiting for their's?
  9. Has Hadopi been dispelled? If so what has replaced them¿
  10. But, with a big B, I sent a copy of the avis to our CPAM when renewing our Health Cover last month, as we have to pay cotisations to URSSAF, so won't this 0 figure confuse them too? (I'm just scared our health care will stop)
  11. Sorry to hear about the catastrophy in your area GG, and how sad that the breast cancer fundraising day was cancelled. I know from experience just how much planning goes into these fundraising events. Have a safe journey back to blighty on Saturday.
  12. Yes it was the online estimate after completing the forms.
  13. Just checked the justicatif, the amount topay says 0 but I think someone has made a mistake as when the tax forms were submitted in May we were given an estimate of what we would pay. Should I take the trouble to go and see them or just wait to see if they eventually ask for payment.
  14. Our initial avis does say we have a sum to pay hence my confusion
  15. I want to pay my avis d'impot, normally I do this on line, but apart from the tax fonciere they don't ask for any other payment yet. I'm sure I have normally had an indication by now of the date it needs paying. BTW I have already paid the fonciere so that is out of the way. I get this message on the pay online page A cette date, aucun impôt payable en ligne n’est rattaché à votre numéro fiscal. Any ideas please?
  16. I saw the podiatrist today, in fact I have a small infection in my foot so have been prescribed antibiotic cream - Fucidin - to apply. He's not sure why or how it happened. He didn’t take my CV or give me a feuille as he said it's not reimbursable, even if I had an ordnance from my GP. I don't understand how things can differ depending on where you are?
  17. Thanks for both of your replies, I need some help reading that article please Norman. Yes I am Ald, I see a heart specialist once a year and an ophthalmologist and apart from giving my carte vitale I don't pay them anything. I don't have an ordnance from my medicin traitant to see the podiatrist as I just phoned direct for a RDv! The last time I saw one was when I had a piece of glass in my foot and she didn't take my CV as she said it wasn't reimbursed. Should I ask for a feuille if this one doesn't take my CV?
  18. I've had to make an appointment to see a chiropodist owing to painful hard skin that I just can't remove myself. Is the podiatrist reimbursable if you have diabetes like it is in the UK?
  19. I'm a bit concerned with reading this thread. We have a new build (2011) with a VMC system but even on a low setting I find it too noisy to sleep without wearing earplugs! So consequently it's hardly used. We do open windows when weather is good. Would it be beneficial to run the VMC during the day when it won't disturb sleep?
  20. I used the English line a couple of weeks ago, it was a bit of a palaver but in the end I spoke to someone who was very helpful.
  21. I had both a colonoscopy and an endoscopy earlier this year and am happy I had a GA, I didn't feel any pain or discomfort and recovered quickly from the light anaesthetic. For the blood test, I needed an ordnance, but couldn't your gastro specialist get one done for you?

    Anaesthetist

Yes I did change Idun, saw a different one today but the two I've seen I'm not happy with and wish I could change. However on the day of the op you get who you get ( even possibly an intern) so just hope they take on board what I've said, and the notice I wrote which I asked to be kept on my file. Thanks to you both for your help.

    change of mutuelle

Hopefully it's sorted. I went into our local Allianz, they made a phone call and confirmed it will be around 15 days for the teletransmission to change. Our contract expired on 30 April with Allianz, even though we followed the correct procedure they still took the virement in May for the higher amount of the new contract. You really have to watch these b*****s!

    Anaesthetist

Thank you Norman. My RDV with the anaethetist was this afternoon, it didn't go well and I fear that they haven't listened to my concerns. I think it is just this particular hospital, the sleep doctors seem so arrogant, I've never had these problems at other hospitals.

    Anaesthetist

Last time I had an operation (Nov 2013) I went through a long list of health questions and made it quite clear that one of my arms should not be used for blood pressure, blood tests or a drip because the risk of lymphoedema was high. However the bad arm was used for a drip so as you can imagine I wasnt very happy. Also the anaethetist tried to do a blood test from the hand of the bad arm, again we ended up arguing because I refused to let her take blood, she ended up being extremely aggressive with taking blood from the other hand. Also I stated clearly that as a diabetic I should not have a drip with glucose in, just saline. Again they ignored this request. I am having surgery again at the same hospital, unfortunately, in 2 weeks time. This time I have typed a document stating all the problems I had last time and asking them to adhere to my request. I'd like to get a copy of this document signed by the anaethetist to acknowledge they are completely aware of the "don'ts" - so my question here is what wording in French do I use, for example .......... "please sign this document to acknowledge you understand my health issues, which I will keep in case the above is not adhered to" I have since developed lymphoedema which is what I was trying to avoid and I will never know if their stupid actions is what brought it on. I should state that this time I will make a complaint (although don't quite know how I would do that). Many thanks
