3. Hi every one  I was in my classroom this afternoon talking with a year 10 student who using my ICT room and discovered his grand parents lived 10K form where we have our house in france.  We had a really good discussion on all the good things we do when we are there and places we know. I was wondering if any one else had experiences like this?  You know you go hundreds of miles away on holiday to see your neighbours  or someone you know, walk down the road or you meet some one who has a shared experience?   J  x
4. Hi Jon I would have a guess at  Brits are not necessarily buying athe moment because the £ is not as strong as it was and properties will therefore cost alot more.   Just a thought. Judith
5. hi all this inspired me this week at school - some of you will have seen it, it gave me a tear to my eye and goose bumps it was so good. an inspriration to us all, we all have a talent however small or large http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=NLF9iEXnBRo JX
6. Hi Cathy Surely your not still doing all that washing at 4 am?  Or are you doing their homework? When do you get time to sleep? J  x
7. Hi everyone Iwas just wondering Why do ferries charge more the longer you stay away?  If you go on a day trip or for a few days it is always cheaper than if you go for more than a week.  I was just wondering if anyone could enlighten me please?   Judith
8. Hello Ian   Just an Idea  Why dont you buy a Camper van then you can live in which ever part of the country that takes your fance at the week ends and return to your city pad in the week.   [:D] J x
9. Hi Wendy Thanks for the vote of confidence. However, there was a lot of blood and sweat that went into that letter and i had lots books around to try and help.  I just hope that she could understand what i waas trying to say and I  wasn't rude unintentionally[:$] I did get a message over MSN from her husband saying she was very pleased to receive it! Intergrating is important, my immediate neighbours have all taken us under their wing, the lady I sent the letter to and her husban, an old lady that we go and have coffe with every time we go over ,she is so pleased that we take the time not only to visit but to take her small gifts and try to talk to her, (her husban came over to england during the war) and last visit we made the aquaintence of the ones that live behind our house who are related to the parisians who visit their holiday home near us.  it was really excitng we got to have coffe with all their family, they were pleased to know us, they had sold their farm to english and built their new house witht eh profits. I was really upset this christmas that we didnt get to France as we were invited to the family christmas eve party which would have been really interesting.  Never mind they said we could go next year.........
10. Thanks Wendy Thats great.    I am sooooo looking forward to the summer holidays. I am really pleased with myself,  I have just written my first letter in french to my neighbour as she is a really good friend and i do try and keep in touch. It was really hard work and i'm not sure she will understand what i have written, but hey its the thought that counts. J x
11. Thanks Celestine I know that place its the one with the tower across the road, nice place[:D] Was just bragging - sorry talking about how lucky we are to have a house in france at work to day made me feel a bit better because the people I was talking to all said they wanted one or were thinking about it and i could spout out what i knew on the subject (not alot really) but sounded good. We know some french people who have moved in at Bazoges En Pareds last summer friends of my french neighbours, the lady is expecting a baby at easter so we are looking to seeing them when we come over just after easter. I will be over in august for 4 weeks if you want to meet for coffe? Judith

13. Frenchie there is a war museum in Mouleron en Pared which might be worth a look at, i have just finished reading a novel which included lots about the royalists in the vendee, not very accurate but a good read anyway. J X

16. thanks again That must be a really old picture of Tallud as we now posses a bus shelter and and big new extention to the Marie which was completed last summer, they are even threatening to put in mains sewerage I can also see my houes not far from the curch, thanks Frenchie Jx
17. Thanks  Frenchie Our house is between Chantonay and La Chataigneraie in Tallud Ste Gemme. I am spending my time fantasing about moving to france at the moment but know its unrealistic as we would not be able to support our selves.  I have an 8 year old son and am concious that it might be a bit late in a few years to move him.  At the moment we have the best of both worlds a we go as much of the school holidays as we can, he has french friends that he plays with whilst there and has started to learn french at school.  one day....... Judith
18. Hello all   I am really missing france this year as we did not et over for our normal two weeks at christmas.  Has anyone any nice piccies out there that will cheer me up, we wont be able to return until just after easter it will be the logest time since we brought the house 3 years ago. Looking forward to seeing it again, thanks in advance   Judith wishing she was there
19. I'm with Pads Goldfish  go with your dream Like pads i was suprised and highly delighted when visiting friends who live in france for a two week holiday we ended up signing the com de vent for our house on my birthday, we had not intention of even looking at houses when went over there.  We have now had our house for four years and it is the best thing that we have ever done.   I love visiting when ever i can however my husband is not always so keen as yet although he loves it when he gets there.   I would love to be able to move over permenantly but am realistic in that at the moment we couldn't afford to support ourselves.  If you can afford it take your kids and follow your dreams, at the end of the day we all only have one life to live, so go for it.   Judith
20. hi I have been doing the course since november and have found it extremely useful and as already stated, it is good as you can repeat it as many times as you want. Its good because you can see your progress as you go along. my eith year old has even had a go at some of it

24. Not so rustic as some but was perfectly habitable when we brought it and our own little castle, although needs lots spent on it, in the middle of a small village but still quite isolated and only two houses with premenant habitants that are the best. I hope this has worked and thanks to those who have offered help with putting in pictures.
