1. You seem to be reading it from a position of what you want it to say and mean which, as has been pointed out by those more familiar with the vagaries and idiosyncrasies of how things actually work on the ground in France, may not be as black and white as you might hope or expect. I'm sure there was something in your first or second post about a change in financial situation or employment which seems to have disappeared but if that is the case, and if it were to genuinely lead to your prospective lender refusing or withdrawing an offer that would be a legitimate get out, something tells me that in that circumstance you might not be such a stickler for dates though ! Talking of dates, it's curious that you began by saying that Sept 5th was the cut off but then said it was originally July 5th so is there something you're not telling us ?
2. Doubtful such a clause would be at a sellers behest as clearly their interests are better served by being as flexible as possible. More likely the Notaire inserted it to protect you in case you failed to secure a mortgage, it may even be standard procedure where a buyer has indicated that they would be needing one, but why either would put a rigid date to it is a mystery,
3. You need to talk to the Notaire because he/she is the one will ultimately decide on whether the contract is voided or not, was there a reason for the date being so specific ? Sounds like you want out of it but if there has been any bad faith or chicanery afoot it's possible it might not be as straightforward as you might perhaps be hoping for.
4. Came across another site which seems better still: http://roundupreviews.uk
5. How hard does such a simple thing need to be but Apple being Apple the harder the better seems to be the philosophy on top of which they are too dumb, smug, or arrogant to even tell you why something is not working or that what you're trying to do can't be done. Plenty of advice on line though so choose your poison, e.g. https://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-transfer-videos-to-ipad-from-pc-mac/ No device which is not simply drag-n-drop or copy/paste will ever pass over my doorstep !
6. I habitually and drive cars which main stream insurers won't touch and although in my entire motoring career spanning some 50+ years I've never once broken down and summon assistance I nevertheless do carry insurance and since being in France that has been with ADAC who, like The AA and RAC in UK, insure the driver and not the car. Currently ADAC Plus which is for insured and spouse is ~€98 pa. As for taking out cover 30 seconds on Google will reveal a phone number to use to join from outside Germany. 0049 941 52344 One point to note, they do not accept credit cards only debit and I use my CA card.
7. That would be a 'no' then. Hope it all goes as smoothly for you as you anticipate.
8. Bought/registered in France ? Don't like to consider the potential complications if not.
9. Shock horror, says it's not so, something less than perfect with an Apple product [:-))] Surely the fanboys must weeping in the streets and slashing their wrists in angst !
10. The facility will be a function of your provider not the phone itself. With the prevalence of VoIP and other technologies which either mask or transcode numbers it's not quite as simple as simply blocking anything you don't recognise, many legitimate callers withold their number too so blocking those is far from fool proof. Thankfully we suffer from very few such calls so can't really say it's a problem worth seeking a solution to.
11. Oh for the days when a pair of Nationwide debit cards used on the last day of one month and the first day of the next got you £1200 worth of euros, no fuss no fees.
12. As uncharitable an unsympathetic as it might sound and as much as I applaud your public spiritedness in highlighting them these sort of phishing threats have been around for a very long time now and it's becoming increasing difficult to view victims as anything other than authors of their own misfortune, the hand holding has to stop somewhere. Your analysis of the potential risks would appear to indicate that you do not include yourself amongst the 'less savvy' so why are you taking it so personally ?
13. Not quite sure what you're actually complaining about, just look at the URL any legitimate link should look something like this: https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/home Apart from notifications when I've purchased something the only other communications I get from PP are offers of credit and a monthly summary of my activity. Furthermore any links contained therein just take me to the PP login page where once again I can check the URL before entering anything. Even if you are storing your login details in the browser (not a good idea) then if it's not the genuine PP site then those will not be triggered to log in to it. Getting into a lather over nothing it seems to me and of course the choice of whether to use PP or not is always yours [;-)]
14. Do you actually mean 'Servitude' or is it just a term you've coined ? A Servitude is a legally defined access way which specified persons (and their heirs or authorised agents) have a permanent right to use without hindrance. Is it actually a Servitude then and if so and you don't know who has rights then your Mairie would be the first port of call to find out.
15. ..............can you find sleeping behind one shutter ? Found this lot (21) when I went to partially close one pair of shutters to keep the sun out of the house. I've found them here before but only in twos or threes, always the same shutter of the same pair too. Tucked them away somewhere dark for the day.
16. In addition to the legality or otherwise of dollies and A frames there is of course insurance to consider, arguably the most important factor in the mix. By default any such device must fall into the 500kg+ category which in France means registration and usually insurance under the tow vehicle's policy but the insurer will still want to see it's carte grise which you will be unable to provide hence no cover. The only legal option I'm aware of for towing another vehicle is on a proper trailer.
17.

I just stated that I didn't understand why people are afraid to use the real names, Ernie.
Perhaps for the same reason you've chosen not to ? Do make your mind up [:P]
If you're going to quote me please have the courtesy to use my whole comment, not your edited version to try to make yourself look clever.
Seemed reasonable enough to me but I'm content to let the readers decide who's trying to look clever.
18.
I just stated that I didn't understand why people are afraid to use the real names, Ernie.
Perhaps for the same reason you've chosen not to ? Do make your mind up [:P]
19.

So NickP is your given name then is it ?
Yes first bit is my name and the last letter is the start of my surname, is there a problem with that, another.?
Only that it's not your real name which you're chastising others for not using [;-)]
20. Seems to be universal not just one or two posts, I believe that can only happen if you change your user name which you yourself can't do. Maybe a forum software snafu !
21. Had you asked I think to a man you would have been told that (as for any legal transaction) an application for a quittus fiscale needs to be done in person or, as you've discovered, with a legal mandate to act as a agent or proxy. As to the approval number in line K, simply having a number there is not necessarily sufficient, it has to be the correct number for approval in France but because of the differences, particularly between UK and French\European versions of any given vehicle, it's more likely than not to be the wrong one which the computer at the prefecture will reject and that's why you need a CoC. BTW proof of insurance is not required at any stage of the process and it appears you've already partially beaten the system be getting a CT done on a UK regged car without a CoC. On insurance, be very careful that the insurer doesn't cancel the cover because you have not provided them with a carte grise in the allocated time, if that happens then you will be up merde creek without a paddle as a break in cover will mean that no other insurer will touch you. Personally, other than putting a time limit on cover (normally 2 months not one) I've experienced no real difficulty in insuring UK regged cars I've imported and I've done it close on a dozen times now. The one problem I did have was with Retro Assure who used to be very laid back in that regard meaning that you didn't have to make like a Whirling Dervish from day one to get the registration done (for classic cars the FFVE typically take 6-8 weeks to issue an attestation) but then without announcement suddenly put a 2 month limit on it and issued a non negotiable cancellation notice on two cars I'd recently brought over but was working on prior to registering. Fortunately my local insurance agent was able to get cover for them elsewhere before that deadline otherwise I would have been in some difficulty. Retro lost all my business over that and I even ditched them for my own MGB because of it.
22. If you have a mobile phone registered with Gmail then they can send reset instructions to that.
23. Not sure but if both names are on the carte grise it may well be that that needs both signatures too, better to find out now than risk another 'non' at the prefecture. I don't post for thanks but deliberately phrasing a reply which effectively dismisses the advice I've given, and continue to give, is a bit ungracious. Perhaps if you'd been clearer with the facts in your own posts the thread would have concluded somewhat earlier, if indeed it has concluded!
